A Perspective on Race & Effects of the Word "Ghetto"
2020.09.29 17:10 mellamandiabloA Perspective on Race & Effects of the Word "Ghetto"
I understand Reddit has not been the space to have these conversations but this is a subreddit that discusses shows with Black women on a network with a history of racist undertones, overt racist statements and quite frankly, a washing of hands of situations they’ve put on screen knowing how charged they are without properly addressing them and trying to have Andy Cohen of all people navigate them in the reunions. Please read u/wowelephants beautiful post in solidarity as a POC about the struggles that Black women face re: acceptable versions of Black to be (and the stereotype diliemma) on Potomac. There was another post I read in passing denouncing Wendy’s Nigerian pride by way of calling out the chasm between Black Americans and Africans. The lack of nuance in that post was disgusting to even process. Some of the comments I saw in the last two days after the Potomac fight was troubling to my core both as a Black woman and as a human in general. Comments steeped in confident ignorance by some people who were very candid about their racial identity (non-Black). I hope those individuals read this too. I am a first-generation Ethiopian in American. I identify as Black American. This country prioritized and built the social construct of race so I am (proudly) Black. The chasm between Black Americans and Africans, I believe (and this can be anecdotally), is shrinking mostly because of a stronger sense of solidarity between the two groups. For instance, for people from my country, if you came to America in the 70’s and early 80’s, they tend to have a stronger bond with the Black Americans, PRE-CRACK EPIDEMIC. Black folks were flourishing and the sense of community was strong. This is before the introduction of crack into Black neighborhoods ravished a generation of people. If you came in the late 80’s and 90’s during the time of the crack epidemic, Regan’s “welfare queen”, the crime bill, etc., you came to America at the peak of its blitz on Black folks here. Essentially, Africans’ introduction to Black folks in this country and their regards towards them depended on when they came during a very specific time. My parents were one of those African folks who previously didn’t call themselves Black. They didn't want to be grouped in. But solidarity if found in common struggle so that perception sure did change. To conclude here, Wendy identifies strongly also as a Black woman but like so many of us first generation folks, we hold privilege in knowing where we are from and being able to have a strong connection with our culture in Africa. Now, to discuss hood vs ghetto and a history of internalized racism on this show. I have mentioned this several times in the comments so I may be coming off as a broken record. But I will say it here again…hood and ghetto are NOT the same thing. The word “ghetto” has always been racially/ethnically charged so let's not continue to believe it was just areas for poor people. Ghetto was originally described as poor Jewish neighborhood in Venice, Italy actually called the Ghetto. When Jewish folks were emancipated in Italy, the ghettos were disbanded but that term was carried over into America to describe areas where Jewish people lived in dense neighborhoods in Manhattan. There was a strong resurgence of the word during WWII under Hitler in Europe. That word had discriminatory beginnings. It’s not as simple as saying it’s just a poor area In America, that term was used to describe impoverished Black people in America. It was used during the time when tools like covenants, red lining and any other housing discrimination effort were being deployed against Black folks. The term was used so loosely to describe Black areas on a national scale, even in legal proceedings. The word then morphed into something to describe a wide swath of black people. If a black person is anything other than the American societal standard steeped in racism, they are considered “ghetto”. If you are loud, if you are aggressive, etc., you are ghetto. Doesn’t matter if you grew up in the “ghetto” (which isn’t even reason enough to label a human that), you are ghetto. Hood is a whole different term. It is a word to describe a urban area in a large city but also holds up the culture, vibe, people of that area. It’s a reclamation of the term. Its a term for celebration. People proudly describe themselves as hood. It’s a word that people of similar upbringings use to describe a shared experience. If you’re from Oakland or you from Brooklyn, the culture is different but the experience is similar. It’s a point of pride. Despite the situation a person was brought up in, they are able to navigate through this word but also keep all that they've learned growing up in the hood. It’s street smarts. It’s toughness and tenacity. It’s a certain swag and vibe. It’s the ability to shift on a dime and handle shit like shit gets handled in our neighborhood. For many, no matter where they go, they still got hood in them. It’s a culture. There’s a reason Megan thee Stallion and Cardi B specifically call themselves hood. Now, to try and say the two are the same is short-sided and dangerous. People are now trying to attach the same racially charged intent behind “hood” as they did “ghetto”. Speaking AAVE does not warrant being called either of these terms. A lot of black folks use it as do most of the women on this show. AAVE is a language and has been co-opted by American culture on many occasions. The first season of this show, Sherisse and Karen used the word ghetto constantly and quite frankly, it was almost the reason why I stopped watching Potomac. It is disgusting. The production company clearly didn’t have the staff or maybe the motivation to tell these women that it is a damaging word. But Black Twitter sure as hell did and it dragged the life out of Sherisse and Karen for using it. So from the beginning, the women on this show have had a “I’m a better version of Black” attitude. There’s also a colorism and internalized racism issue on this show that feeds into the “I’m a better version” attitude that Atlanta doesn’t really have. Both things happen in varying degrees. It does not matter that Monique describes herself as hood, she never identified as ghetto but she was called that. The colorism aspect may not have been front and center in this situation, but understanding that just because Monique put her hands on Candiace isn’t the reason why she was called ghetto. Candiace was waiting to use it. These women have been in other similar situations where they weren’t called ghetto. It’s not because they didn’t physically strike someone. There’s a larger issue at play. Look at the juxtaposition of Candiace calling her and her behavior “ghetto” and Monique calling herself “hood”. It’s intentional and I think the producers were great in going back and forth between the two because of Candiace’s history. Even the Candiace is the victim in this situation, it continues to shine a light on her internalized racism. Her need to constantly mention the coloring of her white husband’s appendage as if to seek out approval for dating interracially, calling Ashley a “roach” knowing full well what the word holds, etc. Even her mother perpetuates her internalized racism as well. That whole family gives off a “Be Black but not that type of Black” attitude. Is there a “class” element to this? Possibly, there’s always ways to identify the intersectionality of these issues. You can attribute “new money” and “old money” to it as well. But in the end of the day, the women on this show do not have the capacity to discuss race in a way that I think they want or want to call out others for exploiting or the behavior in general. Wendy could provide a different perspective. People were offended that Candiace attacked Ashley with those tweets but as far as I can recall, no one brought up the disgusting, historically racist use of the word “roach.” I didn’t mean for this to be so long but I hoped to clear some things that were said or inferred the past few days. I always appreciated how people on this sub called out Bravo for it's racial and discriminatory actions. Words have meaning and historical context. Edit: Apologies! I meant to say re: ghettos that it was used in the 18th century in Italy and saw a resurgence towards Jewish groups in Europe under Hilter. But in the 18th century, is was ethnically specific. From Italy, it also made its way in the US to describe Jewish neighborhoods in Lower Manhattan.
Diana French, woman accused of stealing Kyle Richards’ ring, speaks out (Page Six) "Diana French has a bone to pick with Kyle Richards. And Diane Keaton, for that matter. French, a retired pharmacy clerk from Los Angeles, wound up an unwitting viral star when “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards saw a picture of French’s hands on Diane Keaton’s Instagram and thought she recognized a ring that had been stolen from her home in a 2018 burglary. For some reason, Keaton identified French in the picture as a psychic from Santa Monica, which may have been why Richards’ subsequent attempt to find French through a private investigator came to no avail. This week, however, a TikTok user identified French as her grandmother from her hands and attempted to clear her name, saying that the ring had been in her possession for decades while offering photographic proof. French, however, is fed up, telling “Inside Edition” during her Sept. 28 appearance that she wants an apology from Richards and Keaton. “I don’t deserve this,” she told the show. “My twin sister called and said, ‘Diana, you’re on Google.” “My mother was killed 40 years ago and my dad gave me her band,” French explained of the ring, noting that she has appraisal papers from 1980 that set the ring’s value at $2,500, along with a trove of family photos showing her wearing the item for decades. As for the nails, French said she’s always had them: “I am totally lost without them.” And while she doesn’t remember the particular date Keaton took the pic, she does remember the actress was her customer. “That picture of my hands was taken on the counter of the pharmacy,” she said. Reached by Page Six, Richards’ team had no comment; Keaton’s has yet to respond."
Real Housewives star's Coatesville mansion sells sight unseen to expats for $8.8m (stuff.co.nz) "High-end properties often take a long time to sell, and the Coatesville house owned by Real Housewives of Auckland star Michelle Blanchard and husband Dave is no exception. After first being listed in September 2016 with a different agency, the 2.66ha property with its huge modern mansion has finally been sold by New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty for $8,800,000 – to an expat family that has bought it sight unseen. The property has a CV of $6.05 million, and four years ago, Dave Blanchard told NZ House & Garden the couple had spent “well over $7 million on it”, carrying out an enormous renovation, which tripled the size of the house to 1000 square metres." Brandi says she was nervous for the interview and studied up on Andy and his career beforehand in preparation
Brandi welcomes “Andy fucking Cohen” and Andy greets “Brandi fucking Glanville.” Brandi says she never hears Andy cuss. Andy says he cusses on his radio show. Brandi says she doesn’t listen to that, because she’s never been invited to be a guest. Andy says he’ll change that.
It’s Andy’s first time on Brandi’s podcast. He congratulates her on her success with her podcast. Andy is Brandi’s 300th guest.
Brandi says she kind of wants to quit her podcast because “every fucking person” has a podcast now. Andy says LVP has one now and Brandi starts laughing. Brandi “I’m like, oh, she stooped to my level, finally!” Andy laughs. Brandi says she wishes she could have been a fly on the wall for the LVP/Camille podcast to hear the parts they cut.
They shoot the shit about COVID and Andy contracting it and recovering. I’m not gonna transcribe the shooting the shit type parts because who cares lol.
Brandi asks Andy about adding to his family. Andy says he’s an “old guy,” and whatever he does, it would be for Ben, he would like Ben to have a sibling so that when Andy isn’t around anymore, Ben has family. Andy’s life is already very unconventional, and he wants to give Ben every opportunity to succeed and flourish, and giving him a sibling would do that. Re: gender, Andy says he would “leave it up to Jesus” – Brandi replies, “woo, Jews for Jesus over here!”
Brandi asks Andy about the rumours that Teddi is not coming back to the show. Andy says they don’t formally announce until they have to, and he doesn’t HAVE to at this point, so he won’t. (Non-answer)
Brandi has a bunch of questions people sent her for Andy on Twitter, but she’s “not going to ask all of them because some of them are shady as fuck.” Brandi calls Twitter a “breeding ground for hate.” Andy agrees.
Brandi asks Andy if he’s single – yes, he is. Brandi says she’s “single-ish,” – there is somebody, but he doesn’t live in California, and he’s Mormon. Brandi asks Andy “how he’s dealing without dick during the quarantine?” Andy says people don’t want to be without dick (true), but it is what it is, Andy says he’s been tested for COVID and antibodies so many times that there have been periods where he knew his status for sure and that “freed him up a little bit.” Andy says it’s not fun dating right now, there’s none of that happening, and it’s not a time to be meeting new people. “It’s a weird time.”
Brandi asks Andy about online dating. Andy is on Tinder and “all the apps.” So is Brandi (except neither of them are on Raya). Raya turned Brandi down LMAO. Andy didn’t even try to get in.
Brandi says straight guys (“except for Jerry O’ Connell, and that’s a question mark” – oh, Brandi, come on now!) don’t really watch Bravo unless they’re married and thinks that works in her favour when dating (straight guys are less likely to know who she is). Andy says he would have a harder time trusting a guy who is a huge Bravo fan because he would question their intentions. His last boyfriend watched some housewives, but “he wasn’t living for it.”
Brandi says she’s friends with a lot of gay men and knows some of them are only friends with her because they love housewives and “when they get in fights she calls them ‘housewives whores’ – they don’t like it.” Andy says he doesn’t really have trust issues when it comes to people’s motivations in wanting to date him. Brandi says he’s lucky about that.
Brandi asks if Andy knew Bethenny was going to leave “because it seems like you guys are really close friends.” Andy had a sense that the deal wasn’t going to work out but B and Andy had agreed “not to talk about her deal that year” because in the past they had an annual fight about her contract/negotiations, and Andy doesn’t like fighting, and he especially hates fighting with Bethenny, who is “not fun to fight with.” (I’ll say). Andy says he was ultimately surprised by the timing and that the deal fell through right before production started, but he wasn’t totally surprised that she left. He was bummed, he thinks the show is great when she’s on it, but he was just grateful she came back for a second round.
Brandi says it’s “time for B to go and have her happily ever after.”
Brandi brings up Dorinda’s departure and I get instantly weepy because I am an unstable bitch when it comes to Dorinda lol. Brandi says she doesn’t know Dorinda that well but she texted her about a week after D got fired and Dorinda said “Brandi, you’re the first housewives person that has texted me since I left the show.” Brandi said that surprised her and asked Andy if he thinks that housewives friends forget about once you’re off the show. Andy says he doesn’t know, he thinks it depends on the person. Andy says once you’re on housewives it’s like being in the mob, people will ask you about it forever, you can never get out. Brandi agrees.
Brandi says she’s done 13 other reality shows since housewives and housewives is really the only one she gets asked about other than Big Brother sometimes. “Once a housewife, always a housewife.”
Brandi says she was watching Dorinda and kind of saw herself in a D in a way, Brandi was also in a downward spiral on housewives “except without the money,” getting drunk all the time, she wasn’t happy, she was depressed, and she was doing the same thing over and over again on the show, and she saw that happening with D.
Brandi loves NY hws and tells Andy that BH needs a touch of the “off the rails” quality NY has, she says the BH ladies are “too on the rails.”
Brandi says when she got fired it was a blessing she needed at that time even though she couldn’t see it then, and she thinks this will also be a blessing for Dorinda. “Everyone loves Dorinda, but we all want to see Dorinda happy.” Brandi felt like she was watching herself when she watched Dorinda.
Andy talked to Dorinda about it a lot and says D was very philosophical about it and he thinks this will be positive for her and lead to good things. Brandi says Dorinda needs a mental health break.
Brandi brings up Tamra and Vicki’s firings to Andy and says she “felt like they had told their entire stories.” Brandi tells Andy that Tamra and Vicki both said he was ageist. Andy says he didn’t know, he seems surprised. Andy says, “that’s weird, but Ramona is older than Vicki.” Brandi says Andy is “the only person who hires middle aged women in this entire town.” Andy says he “doesn’t care for that’ (the accusations of ageism). Andy says Vicki and Tamra are amazing and Vicki to this day makes him absolutely laugh. They just felt like the show needed “some new air, they needed to kinda air it out and see where it went.” “Unfortunately, we were in the middle of a great, great season when COVID hit, so we had to shut down production and then resume production in the middle of this mess.” Andy describes OC as the “Knott’s Landing of the franchises.” He says it’s “real life drama, with real people, they’re women dealing with some real serious stuff in their lives, and when the season starts, there’s something that grounds it to the core of what Orange County always was about.” When Andy watched the new season he said it felt like authentic OC to him. Even though Vicki and Tamra will always represent OC and he hopes they will some day be back in some capacity, “the show is still the show, and I was very happy about that, but it needed to go in new directions.”
As Andy told Vicki, she had an unprecedented run. “It’s not a given that anyone is going to stay on television, and it’s not a given for me either, I’m full of gratitude every time Bravo picks up the contract for WWHL, and when they don’t, I will understand.” Andy says “it’s not a right to be on television, it’s a gift.”
Brandi says Tamra and Vicki are iconic but it gets to a point where it’s the same thing over and over again. Brandi says she’s loving the new girls and them sharing EVERYTHING that they’re going through. (sigh)
Brandi asks Andy if he thinks that, when you sign up for reality tv, especially housewives, should you be allowed to have something that isn’t aired on the show, like something you hold back? Andy says he thinks that if there are skeletons in your closet, it’s really difficult to go on reality tv. Cites Joe and Tre, Brandi and Adrienne Maloof.
Brandi says family drama is hard for her to watch and she had to stop watching Jersey for awhile when it got really bad. Even with Kim and Kyle, being on the show with them together was hard for her. Brandi says she loves and wanted to protect Kim but she also likes Kyle, and it was hard to navigate, she “doesn’t want anyone thrown under the bus on national television” (LMAO), But Brandi says it’s harder than it looks to be on housewives, and you just can’t have secrets.
Brandi brings up Denise and says she’s “trying to move past that.” She says Denise will be missed on hws. Andy says he’ll miss her too and he really liked her on the show. He has nothing else to say. He seems – unenthused lol.
Re: Denise, Brandi says when anyone tries to self-produce it becomes hard to watch. “Just fucking say it, tell everyone to fuck off and then it will be fine.” (I wholeheartedly agree lol).
Brandi asks Andy if he makes up names of the people asking the questions at the reunion (I’ve always wanted to know this!) Andy says no, he doesn’t!
Brandi asks Andy if he has a physical type when it comes to men. Andy says “he’s kinda like the UN, he really doesn’t.” He likes “strong, in shape, handsome,” but he’s “very open.”
Brandi is friends with someone Andy used to date so Andy feels like Brandi “knows stuff about his sex life” (a guy named Marco).
Twitter question: “On Howard Stern, you said Brandi put herself on an island away from the ladies and that’s why she wasn’t asked back. What is the excuse now?” Andy doesn’t have an answer. “You’re not on an island, but you’re not exactly friends with any of the women.” Brandi: “I’m friends with Teddi and Kyle. I text Kyle a lot. I’m very close with Kim.” Andy: “I will say this, I’ll say you’re as close to being back as you’ve been in a long time.” Brandi: “Yes, that is true.”
Twitter question: “Why do some of the women on Beverly Hills get away with doing the bare minimum while a housewife from any other franchise would get fired for doing the same?” Andy: “Welllll, I mean, I think that each of the cities has their own personality and vibe, and Beverly Hills has their own personality and vibe, and of all of the shows Beverly Hills is the most of a ‘lifestyle show’ so to speak, I just think you can’t measure what’s happening in one city against another because they’re just different animals.”
Brandi says in NY for example they’re not “dogs with bones” where everyone holds onto one thing and goes after one person, “they all go after each other.” Andy says “typically things in Beverly Hills get discussed far more than on the East coast. Same with Orange County actually, too.”
Brandi says when she joined BH she was seen as trashy for swearing but now everyone on BH is telling each other to fuck off. She thinks the show has evolved a bit, but they’re in general a more conservative show compared to say New York or Atlanta which are Brandi’s two favourites.
Twitter question: “Who’s really the richest housewife, and who is probably the poorest?” Brandi says it’s either “Kim or I for the poorest.” (I thought Kim’s daughter married into the family of a gazillionaire?) Andy laughs. Andy hems and haws over who’s the richest. Brandi: “Even ex-housewives, because I always think about Vandercunt.” (Not a typo). Andy says Adrienne always seemed like she has a lot of money, he thinks Sutton has a lot of money. Brandi says she thinks Sutton is just pretending to be rich, she says she knows a lot about Sutton and Sutton “pretends to have more than she has.” Andy says the estimates on celebritynetworth.com are bullshit. Brandi confirms this, says her own net worth on that site is wildly overestimated.
Brandi says she thinks Kandi might be the richest hw. Andy agrees, Kandi is rich. Andy also thinks Mauricio makes a LOT of money. Brandi agrees. Brandi says Kyle is now living in Encino, she’s “basically their neighbor,” and Encino is “no longer the Bel-Air of Beverly Hills.” Brandi says she is being shady.
Brandi brings up Jeff Lewis, “the shadiest bitch of all time.” Brandi says Andy and Jeff were best friends, Andy says that is NOT true. I don’t give a shit about Jeff Lewis so I’m not bothering with this part. Basically he and Andy are still friendly even though Jeff read his private texts on air. Brandi talks a little bit about the wine throw gone wrong on WWHL. She hates Jeff. She shades Jeff’s plastic surgery.
Brandi brings up a time when she was on WWHL to promote her new book, the footage never made air, and the doorbell rang and “in came Carole Radziwill,” and then Carole started promoting Widow’s Guide and “it became all about her.” Brandi asks Andy if he was being intentionally shady/trying to sabotage her book promotion. Andy says he doesn’t remember. He thinks he had probably told Carole he would help her promote her book because of the ghost-writing stuff. He wasn’t trying to mess with Brandi’s book promotion, it was just a poorly-timed thing. Brandi seems to accept that.
Brandi asks about Andy’s relationship with Carole who she says “seems to have a great amount of disdain for Andy.” Andy agrees, thinks Carole is angry both towards the show in general and at him, thinks she felt like he was “up Bethenny’s ass” (lol). “It didn’t end in the way I hoped it would have.” Andy and Carole were in each other’s social circle for years, they did have a genuine fondness for each other at one time.
Brandi says she’s been at events with Carole a few times and thought she seemed “aggressively angry at Andy.” Andy kind of dodges this. Andy says he thinks Carole has been fair in characterizing the nature of their friendship, she didn’t overstate their closeness.
Brandi asks Andy about his new book with David Quinn. Andy says he can’t talk about that.
Brandi does a marry fuck kill on Andy: Kelly Ripa, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Anderson Cooper. Andy would kill Anderson, marry Kelly so he get could Mark in the bargain, and have sex with SJ.
Brandi asks Andy if he and WWHL feel snubbed by the Emmys. Andy says it doesn’t surprise him, he is up against real skilled comedians in that category who are producing big-ticket, high levels show, he doesn’t really feel snubbed. He wishes the housewives would get recognized. There are seasons where he thought New York housewives should have received some accolades or recognition.
Another marry fuck kill: Kathy Griffin, Danielle Staub, or Jeff Lewis. Andy would fuck Jeff, marry Danielle, and kill Kathy. Andy rethinks it – he would fuck Danielle and marry Jeff, “because marriage is for life.”
Brandi asks Andy if he really thinks Danielle was engaged 19 times. Andy doesn’t answer. Andy says he’s never been engaged. Andy says if he falls in love and meets the right guy he’s open to it. His parents would like him to get married.
Brandi asks Andy who his favourite all time housewife is. Andy won’t answer. Brandi loves Ramona and Porsha.
Brandi gives her son Mason the mic. Mason asks if Andy is “going to give his mom a second change to change her image now that he and his brother are allowed to be on the show.” Andy asks if their Dad has given permission for them to be on air, and Mason says yes, he thinks so. Andy says, “Really?! Well, that’s a discussion, Mason.” Andy asks why Mason wants his mom on the show. Mason “Well, you kind of milked her for everything this season to get some views and stuff, and she hasn’t gotten close to as much as the real housewives.” Andy: “you would like your mother to be compensated what she feels she deserves, right?” Mason: “Yes.” Andy: “You’re awesome.” Mason: “I mean, she’s the best woman I’ve ever met.” Andy: “Aw Mason, you’re the best, you make really good points.” Andy says he’ll keep Mason’s points in mind.
Mason gives Brandi back the mic. Andy says he hopes his son grows up to defend and fight for him like that, “it was very moving.” (It was not, it was weird and it made me feel uncomfortable lol).
Brandi thanks Andy for coming on the podcast. Andy says with all she’s done for the hw shows it’s the least he can do. He loved watching Brandi on Big Brother. Brandi sends love to Andy’s parents and baby Ben. She thanks Andy for everything he’s done for her and apologizes for the times she said fuck off to him except for the time he compared her to a dog. Wishes him a beautiful day. The end!

The Potomac Housewives Will Reveal Everything You Didn't See on TV in the Season 5 After Show (bravotv.com) "The RHOP cast will be dishing on all of the Season 5 drama in the return of The Real Housewives of Potomac After Show, which kicks off on Sunday, October 4 following the latest episode. Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Robyn Dixon, Karen Huger, Wendy Osefo, and Monique Samuels will take you inside this season's biggest moments, revealing behind-the-scenes secrets and sharing major updates on their lives since the season wrapped. Kemar Bassaragh, executive producer of RHOP, and Josh Brown, Vice President, Current Production at Bravo, will also be on hand to provide an in-depth look at the filming of this season like fans have never seen before. You can find new installments of The Real Housewives of Potomac After Show on BravoTV.com and YouTube immediately after the latest episode of RHOP."
RHOP Producer Reveals Why One Housewife Interview Came to an Abrupt End (Bravo Insider) "Executive producer of The Real Housewives of Potomac Kemar Bassaragh is one of the people responsible for bringing us those iconic interview moments, sitting down with the ladies to ask all those hard-hitting questions throughout the season. One of the things Bassaragh notes is that it's important to keep the ladies' spirits up during what can be very long interview sessions. "So, just get them comfortable with their favorite snacks, favorite drinks," Bassaragh explained. "And you can talk to them for hours." Champagne is the most popular drink among the Potomac Housewives, according to Bassaragh, although he once recalled a time when one of the ladies may have had a few too many sips during their in-depth conversation, resulting in a change of plans for production." Argh then the summary cuts off and you have to watch the dumb Bravo Insider video to find out who had "too many sips" lol. To add insult to injury, even though I am a subscribed "Bravo Insider," the video is geo-blocked for me.
Bethenny Frankel open to 'RHONY' return if it were 'different show' (UPI) "On WWHL, Frankel said she might be tempted to return for the right price. "I don't know. If you get my gate code and there's a Brinks truck full of a lot of cash. It's all about the Benjamins, baby," she said. "I have a different career now as a result of not being on. Just different opportunities do come because of it," the star said. "It would have to be a different show. I have had ideas. It would have to be... clean the deck, and it would be a different show," she added."
Former ‘RHONY’ cast member Barbara Kavovit wants to run for mayor of NYC (Page Six) "Barbara Kavovit could be the next reality star-turned-politician. The former “Real Housewives of New York” cast member, 54, is “strongly considering” running for mayor of New York City, she exclusively told Page Six. The Evergreen Construction CEO already has a campaign manager helping her behind-the-scenes and is ready to replace Mayor Bill de Blasio come next year. “Well, I have to say, if Donald Trump could be President of the United States, I can be Mayor of New York City,” she told us. “You know, I’m a builder. I know how to build. I know how to rebuild.” Currently, Kavovit’s company is demolishing and rebuilding Harvey Weinstein’s former New York City offices. Kavovit has not had any political aspirations prior to her decision to pursue the campaign as a “tough Democrat,” but after she began to feel “unsafe on the street,” she decided she wanted to make a difference. “Number one is rebuild a safer and more inclusive New York City,” she said of the platform she wants to run on. “So I feel like the city is not a safe place. So if it’s not safe, people don’t want to come to New York City. People don’t want to stay in New York City.” She continued, “I think housing is not being addressed, for instance, for housing, one of the first things I would do is build more affordable housing. And with that, I wouldn’t only build more affordable housing, but I would create an ownership program so that whoever is in the housing, they have a responsibility to where they live.” Kavovit’s stance on crime is tougher, as she told us: “If you are stealing granny’s pocketbook, you’re going to jail. If there’s not enough jails, I’m going to build another jail.” “I’m a Democrat, but I’m a tough Democrat,” she pronounced. “I’m not going to stand for crime. I am going to help businesses. I am going to promote a safer New York City, very structured, so people feel comfortable about being here, so they want to have their business here. So they want to go on the subway and go to work.” “It’s the toughest city in the world, but the person that’s running it is not tough,” she concluded. “We need a tough advocate, a tough mayor, a tough infrastructure, tough people that are surrounding the mayor. And he doesn’t have that. And we need that.” And of course, Kavovit is not a stranger to shattering glass ceilings in male-dominated fields. Of the political world, she affirmed, “They need a woman in office!” The New York City mayoral election will be held in November 2021. De Blasio is unable to run again due to term limits."
This is just a random tidbit I saw somewhere - Kelly Dodd and Cynthia Bailey have the same wedding date - Oct. 10, 2020.

RHOC star Kelly Dodd’s fall wedding will NOT be filmed for the show as season has already wrapped (The Sun UK Exclusive) "Kelly Dodd's upcoming wedding to fiance Rick Leventhal won't be filmed for Real Housewives of Orange County. Sources close to production told The Sun that "it won’t be filmed for the show at all." "The season has long wrapped, they're not going to fit it in," the insider added, admitting that there are also restrictions on Rick due to his contract with Fox News that limit his appearances.
Lisa Rinna officially launching Rinna Beauty lipstick line (Page Six) "The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 57, first teased an upcoming beauty line at November’s BravoCon, and now fans can get their hands on a Rinna Beauty line of lipsticks and glosses on September 28. Rinna Beauty will launch with three $45 lip kits that include a lipstick, a liner and a gloss in shades with cheeky names like Birthday Suit, Legends Only and No Apologies — but the actress has big plans for expansion. “Of course I want to go into everything down the line. Rinna Beauty is going to be a lifestyle brand,” she told Allure. “But we started with three lip kits — in nude, nude-pink and nude-coral, because that is what I wear.” Of course, Lisa name-checks her model daughters Delilah and Amelia as well as mom Lois — who she says never leaves the house without lipstick — as inspirations for the line, as well as her co-stars Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards. “I’ve always joked about being the lip pioneer. I’ve always wanted to do something with these lips,” she said. “I finally feel like we’re getting to do it and have fun and have a sense of humor, and really bring quality items that I just absolutely love, that my heart and soul are in and part of.”
Candiace Dillard: Monique Samuels 'tried at every turn' to start fight (UPI/WWHL) "When asked on WWHL if she could have done anything differently to prevent the confrontation, Dillard said she was not to blame for the fight. "I could say that I could have done what I did in the previous week's episode, which is walk alway, but Monique, as you all have seen in the compounding episodes, she tried at every turn to start a fight, to start an argument, to start drama," Dillard said. "She was waiting for an opportunity, if you ask me, to have her day, and have her moment, and make up for lost time," she added. "Let's go back to the moment when she threatened to drag me eight months pregnant when I was having a conversation with someone that was not her, that she walked into, and escalated that conversation and that situation, and then threatened to hit me in the face with a glass bottle," Dillard recalled. "So, the short answer is no. I don't believe that me quoting a violent pregnant person deserves or warrants me being violently attacked," she said. On WWHL, Dillard also said Samuels' new song "Drag Queens" is "sad" and "disgusting." Some fans believe the song's title is a reference to Samuels and Dillard's previous fight. "I think that it's sad and it's disgusting that she would create a song to brag about violence," Dillard said. "And then I think it's also sick that she would try to spin it and make it about, 'Oh, I was writing the song about standing up to bullies,' when in actuality, if you review the tape, she was the bully the entire season thus far. I did not bully her."
RHOBH Season 11 Cast Confirmed (Celeb Magazine exclusive). Take this with a grain of of salt because I don't know what "Celeb Magazine" is but they are reporting that the following wives will return: Kyle, Sutton, Rinna, Garcelle, Erika, Dorit, and there is still a potential of Kathy Hilton as friend-of.
Bethenny Frankel on Her New Podcast and Friendship With Dorinda Medley After 'RHONY' Exit (ET Online exclusive) Re: Dorinda: "We have gotten really much closer and it is better that we got closer not being on the show, because it means that it is not because of the show," she says. "And many friends are forged because of the show and then you get off and you are not interested in being friends with those people, so she and I, we are very good at giving advice to each other, life advice. I think she is a great person. I am working on a project with her. You know, I have a production company and I think she would be great for a certain project and it is amazing," she shares. "I think it is the best thing that ever happened to her that she was let go, because she is sort of blossoming and coming alive. ... She would have left but she did not realize it was time for her to leave, so for this time, it was time for her to leave and she did, and she is really happy and she is feeling herself right now, which is great." As for Frankel, she has plenty going on, including her new podcast, Just B With Bethenny Frankel. The podcast focuses on being a self-made mogul in business, and features interviews with the likes of Maria Shriver, entrepreneur Mark Cuban and UFC president Dana White. "It's not about gossip, it's not about who someone's dating or, you know, anything nonsense," she says. "It's all about, like, explaining how people got to where they are. These people are all game changers, they are all visionaries, you know, geniuses, billionaires and that's the bar, you know? I really only have people on who have really made a mark in this world and they are giving it all, they are really giving me everything, so there's so much that people aren't getting anywhere else." Frankel says one common theme she's seen through interviewing extremely successful people on her podcast is their incredible work ethic, and that they're willing to do the "old school hard work." She also shared with ET what she's learned from some of her guests, including Real Housewives executive producer Andy Cohen. "I did not realize how decisive he is until we talked in our podcast," she shares. "He's sort of chilling and hanging out and that was something like, 'Oh wow, me too.' And I didn’t realize that Andy Cohen had to have a job in high school, like, had to have a job, and I'm like, 'Oh wow, OK.' And Mark Cuban said to me ... another person who's a mentor to me said, 'People who are unhappy are unhappier when they make money. People who are happy are happier when they make money.' So, think about this treasure of just data and information about life and the type of person who is successful that I'm getting. Dana White, who is the head of the UFC, said there is no 'no,' and I'm the same. He's like, 'There is no 'no.' Don’t tell me.' I said, 'My motto is a place of yes.' I have something in common with all these people and they have something in common with each other, so it's really cool."
2020.09.02 04:21 rudolf_the_red[For Sale] a little bit of everything. except metal.
got some records up for sale. shipping is $4 for up to four records to the conus. if you want more than four, let's talk. if you're international and you want some of these, let's talk. i don't think there's but maybe two you couldn't find overseas, but i'll work with you if that's what you really want. please do not open a chat, i browse on mobile and chat is not supported (but that's ok because apollo is great otherwise!). either reply here or dm. paypal is prefered. i have listened to all of these albums (except one) on a rega with a blue point prior to putting them up for grabs. i went about my day though, so it's possible i did miss something. overall, these are great play albums. some are collectors. if you'd like more information (pics, runouts, whatever) ask. i'll provide what i can. ruby braff – swinging with ruby braff $3 – one scruff on side one but plays through. minor edge wear. otherwise nice copy given its age. sold. charlie byrd, barney kessel, herb ellis - great guitars at the winery $2 - minor edge wear buckingham / nicks - s/t $30 po 5058 a sterling - 1980 reissue. scruff on last two songs that doesn't affect play. really nice copy. i always hesitate to put this one out there because i only listen to it when i want to sell it. and when i listen to it, i'm like man, i only listen to it when i want to sell it. but it's good. this is one of those things i'm going to look back on later in life and go 'man, i can't believe i just paid double what i sold it for and got a worse copy'. sold. jimmy buffett - you had to be there 'recorded live' $3 - hairline scratches on both discs. i only listened to one disc and it was fine. i just couldn't sit through another buffet disc. i reckon i've been in florida too long. sold. charlie byrd - bird man w/strings $5 - beautiful copy for having been released in 1969. small price sticker in upper right corner but otherwise, super. look at that playlist, that's why i bought it. plus buddy deppenschmidt. leonard cohen - songs from a room $3 - minor hairlines. cover has spine wear and masking tape across the top. it's been there a long time. some ring wear. sold. kid cudi - man on the moon $20 - some minor shelf wear on top but otherwise, beautiful copy. i bought this album for one reason. the cover. i've loved bill sienkiewicz since i was a kid. i still do, but i need the room. culture club - kissing to be clever $2 this is the version with 10 songs and it is beautiful. culture club - colour by numbers $2 this has ringwear, spine wear and top wear. and hairlines. the fabulous dorseys - in hi fi $3 really nice copy. discs look like they've been played twice. since original purchase. it's just not my cup of tea. dr. hook - pleasure & pain $2 still in shrink with hype sticker. cover is great with tiny corner wear. hairlines. could use a little wet wash. get this one for their smash hit 'clyde'. wait, that wasn't a hit. try 'sharing the night together'. remember how, as kids, we'd put these records on and minutes later our clothes would be off? kinda explains why there wasn't much attention given to the second, third or fourth songs on a side. sold. electric light orchestra - out of the blue $5 sides three and four are beautiful. one and two have light scruffs. don't affect play. sleve has minor edge wear but otherwise shiny and firm. and the real reason you want this album? it's there. the ELO SOUVENIR OFFER FORM. it's ok. that's the first thing i look for when i look at this album too. maynard ferguson - high voltage $50. beautiful copy. signed by maynard across the trumpet (this is probably the worst cover to autograph in the history of autographable memorabilia. it's mostly all black). "to clyde!! maynard ferguson". andy gibb - flowing rivers $2 cover had edge wear and ring wear. disc is nice with one scruff and minor hairlines. contains the hit "i just want to be your everything" and a picture of a soaking wet andy gibb. please get this out of my house. go go's - beauty and the beat $2 really great copy. minor ring wear. the girl who bought it originally wrote all the names on the rear picture. it looks like she wrote 'belonda' for belinda. i like belonda better. she also put check marks by we got the beat and our lips are sealed. ~sold. grateful dead - more cosmik messages $40 really great copy with small cover flaws. disc is great.~ sold. buddy hackett / jack teagarden - jazz ultimate $2. gonna take a break from trying to make a two dollar record sound appealing. sold. buddy hacket - live at the roosevelt grill $3 these two hackett records (this and jazz ultimate ) are beautiful. this guy will never be revered like coltrane and davis or getz, but historically, these are very important recordings. if you've spent a lot of money on your system, these records will sound real good. scott hamilton quintet - in concert $3 excellent copy. there's some dj tape at the runout on one side that i could never figure out how it got there. i've left it for you to ponder. the honeydrippers - volume one $1 i spent too long trying to find this record looking for honeydippers. big oof. still in shrink and beautiful all around. billy idol - wiplash smile $5 minor spine wear. beautiful disc. from the liner notes "this ain't no white wedding. this ain't no rebel yell. this ain't no midnight hour. this is a whiplash smile". yeah. that's what i thought too. this is the club version. antonio carlos jobim - stone flower $25 some edge wear. where the record enters it's 'fluffy' from wear. weird placement given gatefold and the paper is weird. little bit of rubbing and water stain on the inside to the left of the 'flower'. two scruffs on disc which are noticable visually, but not audibally. that's not a word. this is a very good play copy and the best i've found to date. billy joel - glass houses $2 good copy. 'rembert' written on cover next to glass houses elton john - live in australia $4 ring wear but given the size of these records and this gatefold, it's to be expected. couple of hairlines. could use a little wet clean. but super nice. such an interesting time in the life of a very interesting person. KC and the sunshine band - pt. 3 $15 i wish i could remember how i came across this. as far as i know, there was never a repressing of this ablum and this version is -still sealed-. since 1976. barney kessel / staphane grappelli - limehouse blues $3. really nice copy. i love the label decoration. but that's all i really want to say about it. john lennon - rock 'n' roll $5. if you were shopping at a thrift store and came across this, you'd be stoked. decent spine wear. some hair lines that are not so much numerous as they are long. otherwise a good copy. but really, if it wasn't john lennon, would anyone own this album? not hate, just not his best, imo. ramsey lewis - sun goddess $15 beautiful copy. still in shrink with stickers. scruffs on runout (never happens on runout!). sold. moody blues - in search of the lost chord $30. original japanese pressing and holy cow is this a near mint copy. i've had this copy for years and only just yesterday did i even open it up to peek at the inside. this has never been played. obi is present (it's called an obi, right?). if i liked the moody blues, i'd be so stoked to have this. but i don't like them. they creep me out. but their album covers are kinda neat. sold. new riders of the purple sage s/t $4 really good copy. stevie nicks - the wild heart $4 edge wear. really nice record. complete with printed lyric sheet. i mean, i love stevie nicks' music, but the whole dramatic 80's witch thing kinda makes me chuckle. just because we all were that way in the 80's. pet shop boys - disco $8 this is the first printing and it's in great shape. there's a dime sized hole punched in the the top right corner. rear edge wear. lionel richie - can't slow down $2 this joker is STILL SEALED. and it's going to stay that way. kenny rogers - love will turn you around $2. still sealed. i can't say anything nice about this album other than that. diana ross - greatest hits $1. ok, hear me out. this is the album i judge an audio system by. when i go to the hifi shop or when i get new gear at home, this is the album i put on. on a really nice system, i'm in the darn studio and i can point out where diana and the musicians are standing. i love the production behind these songs. i have other copies so i haven't listen to this one in a while. it's a pretty good copy. light hairlines on side two. minimal edge wear and some ring. i seem to recall this one having a skip, but i can't be sure. i generally ditch records with skips immediately. shadowfax s/t $2 still sealed. it's in great shape. can't speak for the music. but the disc hasn't seen oxygen since its production. sold. paul simon - greatest hits, etc $2 never listened to this so it's visually graded. minor edge wear. disc is firm and bright with some hairlines. i'm realizing i never got over him stealing edie brickell from me. sold. simon and garfunkel - parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme $5 really excellent copy given the age. first pressing, stereo version. gave this a listen today and it's beautiful. i just can't stand it. i mean, who names their song "a simple desultory philippic (or how i was robert mcnamara'd into submission"?!? if i was in high school with these guys, they would have been the guys that everyone used for their weed connection. that's it. if you like these guys (and that's cool if you do), buy this. if you -really- like these guys, i have a mono first pressing of their debut album that i need help id'ing. sold. frank sinatra - la is my lady $4 sold. frank sinatra - that's life $4 sold. steely dan - greatest hits $10 terra haute pressing some edge wear. discs are totally awesome. ten bucks is a steal for this copy. sold. tears for fears - songs from the big chair $10. really nice copy with minor, minor ring wear. clear, crisp discs. i pass out from all the aquanet when i play this album though and it's got to go. there's something i was supposed to remember about this pressing but we can figure that out if really want to know. it's not a repress. a tribe called quest - hits, rarities & remixes. $20. i love the tribe. i just can't stand the mix of this album. it sounds wonky to me. war - the best of war $15. still in shrink with original turtle's price tag of $8.66. i left the one thumb print on the edge because this album needed a blemish. beautiful otherwise. bob willis and his texas playboys - for the last time $8 i remember having trouble id'ing the pressing of this version. no matter, it's a great copy. original shrink is starting to fall apart, but otherwise, this is a total find. if you like this type of music. if you don't, you add it to the list of records you're going to post on /vinylcollectors hoping to make some space and some mad money for your next musical obsession.
2020.08.30 19:20 totallykyTLDL - Absolutely Danielle Podcast "The Last to Know" Episode
I saw a few tweets/posts about Danielle Staub's latest podcast episode where she goes after Andy Cohen (who she says she used to call "Daddy"). Couldn't find any TLDR, so I decided to take one for the team and do a recap. Episode is linked here if you want to listen for whatever reason. - Near the end she says “I’m calling him out for the right reasons. I’m not using him to get you to listen. au contraire”, but I think it should be noted at the top. - She had a “wall of fame” (a la Kardashians) and Andy saw photos of Kelly Ripa. Andy was impressed by her roster of celeb friends - notes he never thanked her for introducing them - A 13 second clip of Christine and jillian playing frisbee apparently had Andy's phone blowing up with offers from modelling agencies. Notes that Christine was the first model contracted of the franchise - because Christine wanted her career to be hers, not Bravos/on TV - they were punished and Danielle was edited to look crazy (the luncheon for Christine, that Christine wasn't at) - All the publishing houses wanted her memoir “The Naked Truth” - she is the first of the franchise to get a book deal, so Bravo PR didn't know how to properly support (Andy didn’t even have a book, she notes). In S02 she filmed her writing the book - if Bravo didn’t make 15% off the commission of the book, they won’t air it. Since Danielle wouldn’t … they had Teresa write a book. Claims Tre doesn’t cook, Joe apparently said she doesn’t cook either lol. Claims no one was offering Tre a book, so she was happy to sign over the % to Bravo because they are the reason she even had it.. - Bravo had Tre release her book the day before/same day as Danielle (both as the season 2 finale episode aired) and apparently this buried Danielle and hurt her sales. - On Tre: “how would I know she would get a book deal, when she can’t form a sentence?” - Shocked Andy lied about her being fired - when he announced this it cost her “every contract” she had signed. Biggest one was: Danielle was the first and only HW to be approached for Celeb Apprentice (even before Nene). - Danielle said “I'm not coming back for season 3” and apparently cast, crew, everyone and their mothers knew this. However, she claims Andy said Danielle won't be able to film Celeb Apprentice, because she was required to film season 3. “conflict of interest, I suggest you use Nene Leakes because Danielle will be filming RHONJ S03” - She thinks Andy shut Celeb Apprentice down on her because it would show her in a positive light, not the RHONJ edit: “i would have had a banging career” - After this, Andy ghosted her. Didn’t go public because she didn’t want to burn the bridge and be able to come back one day. - “Bravo asked me back every season and I said no” - “Offered me a substantial amount of money to come to the S03 reunion” - Andy kept asking her to come back to WWHL - she notes she's the “first and only guest on his opening episode of WWHL” and “I launched that show for him - with him” - Would only go on WWHL if she was paid, or if she could ask him a question but he can’t know what it is. Negotiations went on for 3 months - she eventually was paid and she was able to ask him “why it was that you said i was fired, when I quit?” note: I couldn't find this for the life of me, did they air this? - Danielle dislikes The Ham Game (Manzo's) - "While I’m busy marching pride parades, he’s promoting - as a gay man - people who hate on gays” which I assume is a dig at the Manzo’s and Joe G, but like… never forget your friend Danny… - When talking about LGBTQIA+ community, says “my community” - confirms she is bisexual in 2020. - "Because I really don't think i hate him. i know, I hate everything he’s done to me." - “The Andy I know would hit up Grindr and go on 3-4 grindr dates an evening” - claims from reputable sources she knows. - "The drugs, the partying... I can accuse him all I want. I'm not talking about marijuana." She is upset she was accused of being a drug addict (did people accuse her of this???? i know she called Ashlee a coke whore on the show lololol) when in fact he’s the one doing those? Vague. Ok that's the bulk of it - Hope you enjoyed! 🧡 xoxo - therealhousewivesorders

Brandi Glanville Denies Altering Texts with Denise Richards After RHOBH Finale: 'C'mon Denise' (people.com) "On Friday's episode of the Brandi Glanville Unfiltered podcast, Glanville discussed this week's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 10 finale, which saw Richards suggest that Glanville could have used an app to revise their texts. "It seems that all of the ladies really believe you," said Glanville's producer, Ryan Tillotson. "Well, because I'm not lying," replied Glanville, 49. "Because I'm telling the truth, and they've all seen my phone." "[Denise], she said that there's an app," Glanville continued with a laugh. "You know me, I can barely use — my friend Michael was like, 'I'm gonna have to go and defend you. You can barely even use your iPhone.'" "I honestly wanted to go to Rome as well, because once you say it on-camera, it just sucks that I couldn't follow it up and have a conversation with her," she said. "But again, I wasn't going to say it 100 percent on camera. And then once you tell one person in the group, which I told Kim [Richards], you kind of have to. Otherwise, if it doesn't come out of your mouth, the story's going to get misconstrued. It's going to be that game of telephone where it's going to be just a giant s--- show." "So I said exactly what happened, and I wanted to follow it up seeing her and I told her that. And she even said she knew I was going to the party — that's why she didn't come, because I texted her. I said, 'I really need to talk to you,'" Glanville continued, referencing Richards' absence from Dorit Kemsley's housewarming party on Wednesday's episode." In retrospect, Glanville said she had no idea the Wild Things star would not attend Kemsley's party after they texted earlier that day. "I thought that she ... would want to confront me," Glanville said on her podcast. "She's not that person that runs away from something, in my eyes. So the fact that she's running away from this just, I don't think she can act her way out of this one." "The truth hurts sometimes," said Glanville. "I would love to have a conversation with her. Now that I've seen all the things that she's said, all of her contradictions, it's hard." When Tillotson wondered whether Richards would ever "show someone the different texts," Glanville insisted "there aren't different texts." "Maybe she has an app for that!" she said."
Teddi Mellencamp Shuts Down ‘Conspiracy Theory’ That She and Kyle Richards Filmed ‘RHOBH’ Scenes Out of Order (Us Weekly) "The 39-year-old accountability coach took to Instagram to answer fan questions during the Wednesday, August 26, finale of the Bravo series. “No, we did not film at KyleRichards18 house after Rome! Check the date and time above!” Teddi wrote alongside a photo of Kyle, 51, packing for their trip on November 19, 2019. “I took this pic when I walked in laughing at her not being packed and all her stuff on the floor.” Teddi subsequently shared footage from Rome dated November 22 through November 24. “And what do you know!!! Rome is after that,” she wrote, adding a pink heart emoji." In the comments section of her most recent Instagram post, Teddi explained that she shared the images because “enough was enough with those conspiracy theories."
Denise Richards on Filming B&B Love Scenes with Husband Aaron Phypers: 'It's Been Fun' (people.com) "During a virtual chat on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday, the 49-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star told host Kelly Clarkson how the long-running soap opera is going about safely filming amid the coronavirus pandemic. Revealing that she and the rest of the cast get tested "two to three days a week," Richards added that the cast must also stay within eight feet of each other. The actors have been asked to have their "husbands or significant others" fill in for any scenes that involve human contact, including "love scenes." "So my husband has stepped in, which has been fun," she revealed of her Aaron Phypers, whom she wed back in 2018. "I'm really grateful that Aaron is able to come, and it's been fun for all of us to see everyone's husbands and wives on set."
Gizelle Bryant Says Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills “Argue Over Literally Nothing”; Says Real Housewives Of Potomac “Couldn’t Get Away With That If Our Life Depended On It” (Reality Tea/Give them Lala... with Randall Podcast) "Gizelle began, “You know, season 1, we were really kind of like lightweight and it was never really anything that was too out of bounds. However, as time goes by, you know this, stuff gets leaked to the press. So, once it’s public in regards to press, we’ve gotta talk about it. You can’t not talk about it.” She continued, “That’s kind of where the seasons have changed and the information has changed. It’s kind of like ‘I can’t sit here and act like I haven’t read the blogs because now I know all about your husband and what he’s doing. You know with Karen [Huger] and her whole tax thing, that was in the Washington Post that her husband owed the IRS like $5 million. There’s no way we can’t talk about it. I have to talk about it. I feel like, you know, we can’t get away with… I feel like Beverly Hills, you know, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, I love those ladies. I think that they are funny and, you know, they are dripping in diamonds and pearls. I love it, but they argue over literally nothing, like zero. Whereas we couldn’t get away with that if our life depended on it. There’s no way.”
Cynthia Bailey Says Sex With Fiance Mike Hill During Quarantine Was ‘Horrible’ (Us Weekly) "Quarantine in a house with all your kids, can you imagine trying to have sex with your man?” Bailey, 53, tells Us Weekly exclusively on the Friday, August 28, episode of the “Getting Real with the Housewives” podcast. “You know how horrible that is to have like quiet, secret sex all the time? It’s like they know it’s happening, but you can’t, like, be loud. It sucks. It really sucks. I was constantly doing the walk of shame in our house.” The couple, who got engaged in 2019, are now spending time at Bailey’s Georgia home, otherwise known as “Lake Bailey.” “We’re here, we’re free. At Lake Bailey, the only people that can hear us now are the deer and the rabbits and squirrels and the ducks,” the Bravolebrity tells Us. “Sex is great right now.” The Bailey Wine Cellar owner, who was married to Peter Thomas from 2010 to 2017, and Hill, 50, are set to tie the knot on October 10, but their plans have “been so crazy” due to the coronavirus pandemic. “We’ve actually thought a couple of times about just postponing it because just even trying to make it happen has been a nightmare,” the reality star tells Us. “Mike and I really feel like 10.10.20 is our perfect date.”
What’s the most popular reality TV show in Florida? Report reveals results (Orlando Sentinel) "TakeSpruce, a CBD company that understands this need to chill, grew curious about people’s reality TV-viewing habits and set out on a quest to determine the most beloved reality show in the United States by analyzing Google Trends data. Since one of the largest reality franchises is Bravo’s Realhousewives, TakeSpruce decided to evaluate data about each of these shows as well. “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” was the number one show in the franchise, earning the top spot in 17 states. No surprise here: Florida’s favorite is “The Real Housewives of Miami.” Full report: https://takespruce.com/favorite-trashy-tv-shows-in-us/
D’Andra Simmons reveals ‘RHOD’ filming precautions amid coronavirus pandemic (Page Six exclusive) “Real Housewives of Dallas” star D’Andra Simmons is “very proud of Bravo” for how they’ve handled production amid the coronavirus pandemic, because they have “taken it very seriously.” The reality star revealed that the network put in place several precautionary measures to ensure the safety of all the cast, staff and crew while filming. She shared that there is a “COVID monitor” who wipes down the set before and after every scene. The “Housewives” are also expected to wear face masks at all times until they’re in the scene. Simmons, 50, said the producers have also made sure that everyone’s houses, every set, and every location they film has been sanitized. “We get COVID tests either weekly or biweekly, so especially now when we do go on our what our version of what a cast trip is, because you can’t really go that far, you do get COVID tests and so does the entire crew,” she added. “I think they’re being very responsible and very careful, because of course, we were thinking, ‘How are we going to do this in a pandemic?’ But it has worked, and knock on wood none of the cast has had any issues with COVID.” Simmons said she has taken the added precaution of quarantining at home as much as possible when she doesn’t have to leave to go film. “I literally stay in my house unless I have to go do something that is required for the show, except for a few tiny little instances because I don’t want to take any chances on contracting something and bringing it back to someone else on the cast or crew,” she said. “I take my job very seriously and I’m very grateful to have this job.” During the pandemic, however, Simmons admits she struggled with depression. “I was pretty depressed for a while,” she said. “My dad used to always say, ‘Pick yourself up by your bootstraps and keep on trucking,’ so that’s what I did.” (more in article)
Danielle Staub’s Former Publicist Says Andy Cohen & WWHL Treated Her Kind Despite Recent Claims (The Blast) "Steve Honig, who worked for Danielle from 2018-2019, tells The Blast, “WWHL (What What Happens Live) and Andy were always respectful and professional toward Danielle and constantly went above-and-beyond to accommodate her needs and give her a voice. She was always shown empathy and understanding and given a fair platform on which to express herself. I find her comments to be untrue and, quite frankly, disgraceful.”
Rachel Uchitel floated as Dorinda Medley’s replacement on ‘RHONY’ (Page Six Exclusive) "Could Rachel Uchitel replace Dorinda Medley on “The Real Housewives of New York City?” Page Six has learned that the colorful socialite — who shot to fame as one of Tiger Woods’ many mistresses — was “on the shortlist” to join the Bravo show last season, but producers plumped for Leah McSweeney instead. And now that Medley’s been axed after six seasons, we’re told there’s renewed effort to get her on the cast. An insider told us that Uchitel’s keen to land the gig, and listed her qualifications: “She’s linked to New York — growing up here, and [she was] on the cover of the New York Post as ‘New York’s tragic face.’ ” (We published Uchitel’s picture with that headline on Sept. 14, 2001. In the shot, she holds up a missing person flyer for her banker fiancé, James Andrew O’Grady, who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11. Uchitel also appeared on Page 1 of The Post a number of times during the Woods scandal.) Meanwhile, they said that — as Page Six has previously reported — she’s been linked to “Real Housewives” lothario Harry Dubin, who has famously dated cast members Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer and Luann de Lesseps, and was married to former cast member Aviva Drescher. Plus, they said, that Uchitel (bonus gossip alert!) dated Paul “PK” Kemsley of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” for a year, right before he got together with wife Dorit. A Bravo rep denied that they’re considering her to replace Medley, but appeared to acknowledge that she’s previously been in talks to join the show. When we asked Uchitel if she was joining the show, she wrote to us, “News to me!” and a winking emoji."
D’Andra Simmons says ‘RHOD’ will address Brandi Redmond’s racist video ‘head on’ (Page Six) "The next season of “Real Housewives of Dallas” will address some of the cast’s racist remarks, according to star D’Andra Simmons. Simmons, 50, told Page Six of Redmond’s scandal, “We will address that first thing head on. I think that’s very important for the show. We can’t just sweep it under the rug, especially since it was such a big deal for people and they were very upset about it.” The Hard Night Good Morning CEO implied that some other conversations surrounding race — aside from Redmond’s remarks — will take place on the upcoming season, which is currently in its last weeks of filming. “I can’t really talk about the other cast members, but there’s another reason why we had to do that, as well,” she said. “You’ll have to wait and see [what that is].” Simmons said in regards to Locken’s insensitive remarks from Season 4 about her co-star Kary Brittingham’s Mexican heritage, the cast doesn’t “really talk about that” this season since Locken, 53, is no longer on the show. Conversations about race will not only be a focal point on “RHOD,” but also in “My Brothers’ Crossing,” a film Simmons co-produced with her husband, Jeremy Lock, a former photojournalist." NeNe Leakes deletes Instagram over rumors of return to ‘RHOA’ (Page Six) "Nene Leakes has deleted her Instagram account after routinely being asked by fans whether she’ll return for Season 13 of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” There’s been buzz about Leakes’ contract negotiations to return. Sources have said she’s been holding out for a bigger payday, but Bravo might add fresh faces instead."
Former Real Housewives of Sydney star Krissy Marsh says the drama on the show 'wasn't scripted' and that producers were shocked by how nasty and toxic the cast were (Daily Mail/Back from Reality Podcast) "The Real Housewives of Sydney was infamously dubbed 'too extreme' to air in the US. And in a new interview, cast member Krissy Marsh claims that not only was the drama not scripted, but that producers were blindsided by how nasty the cast turned out to be. Speaking to the Back From Reality podcast, the 48-year-old said: 'I don't think even the producers knew what they were getting.' She added: 'I don't think they realised how crazy and how nasty some of these women were.' The former reality star said that none of the drama was fake, and that producers didn't even need to encourage anybody to drink because the women 'were getting drunk on our own accord'. Krissy said that things got so nasty and vicious at one point that she quit the show during filming to try and protect her family. Krissy revealed that she rallied some of the other cast members together and that they all walked out on a scheduled promotional shoot for the show until producers agreed to remove a potentially defamatory scene from the series. 'They had no option but to basically cut out and write out what had been said that night,' she said. While Krissy declined to reveal what exactly was said, she said it was much worse than the drama that viewers saw on screen and that it was something that could've affected her children. She added that the mystery castmate that said the remark about her family was 'not of sound mind'."
Real Housewives' Gizelle Bryant 'disturbed for days' by Candiace and Monique 'brawl' (Daily Star UK exclusive) "Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, Gizelle, 49, revealed just how shell-shocked she was about the alleged incident. The mum-of-three told us: "I was completely shocked, I was disturbed for days afterwards. "When we film we have real emotion but we always have found a way for things not to escalate to that level and for it to get there was never something that I thought would happen, so I wasn't happy." She continued: "But it allowed us, on the other side of it, to really have some good discussions about who and what we are as black women in this country, and what we represent. "So if there's any silver lining, it's that we were able to talk about what matters and to kind of hold ourselves up to a level that we're proud of." Re: the men of Potomac getting involved in the franchise, Gizelle laughed: "I think they want to hold a champagne glass [in the opening credits], I think they want to be Housewives! I really don't understand it. And we see more of that this season as well." The beauty joked that she would "co-sign" the decision if producers were to make Michael a featured Housewife in the opening credits, adding: "Michael gets into more trouble than anyone else," Gizelle told us. "Michael gets into all kinds of nonsense. "I don't really know how it was handled between he and Ashley because they have their own personal things, I wasn't there, so I'm curious to see those things just as much as everyone else is." But she teased big things to come, as she cryptically finished: "Michael Darby at our season finale, he stole the show."
Former Black Female TV Execs Launch New Production Company For Diverse Storytelling (Forbes) "Lauren Grace Media, a new production company helmed by two veteran reality television executives, has entered the discussion with a clear mission: To tell diverse stories that people of color can relate to. The company is owned and operated by Dorothy Toran, a former producer for Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and Leslie Farrell, a former vice president of production at NBCUniversal and Bravo Media. “I had been on Jersey Housewives for six or seven years,” says Toran, now president and executive producer of Lauren Grace Media. “Just like everything else, it had been a wonderful experience, but you always get to a point when you are doing something for a really long time and you hit a wall creatively and want to explore what's next. I really wanted to be able to tell stories that I wanted to tell.” But the duo’s professional history has certainly come in handy: Their first project, a 90-minute special titled Race in America: A Movement Not a Moment, aired on Bravo TV, Toran and Farrell’s former company, earlier this month. The special features an in-depth discussion on issues of racism between reality stars including Kandi Burruss and Gizelle Bryant, who weighed in with their personal experiences. “When you think of people who are wealthier than you, famous, or celebrities on television, you think that their life is different,” says Farrell, senior vice president of development and executive producer of Lauren Grace Media. “But what I think that Race in America really showed is, as a Black person in this country, it doesn't matter what echelon you are on. We all share these experiences because racism is systemic.” (more in article)

'RHOP': Wendy Osefo on Why No One Should Be Team Candiace or Team Monique and That Mr. Chocolate Slip! (ET Online) "Dr. Wendy Osefo didn't really know what she signed up for when she signed onto The Real Housewives of Potomac. "Can I be honest?" the RHOP rookie asks under her breath on video chat with ET. "I watched Potomac once I was cast on the show! So, OK, what happened? Let me get up to speed! Who are these people?" Wendy says her mom, Susan, became her go-to resource for learning about the group of women she now found herself surrounded by, getting insight into the complicated dynamics of Karen Huger and company by way of the loyal viewer. "When I don't get things, my mom is always like, 'Well, let me tell you the backstory of how we got here…'" Wendy admits. "I'm like, 'OK, Mom. What happened?' She's my Cliff's Notes." This week, fans will see Gizelle Bryant discover that Candiace called her a "monster" while giving Wendy a rundown of the women. It was a moment in Housewives education for Wendy -- who's actually a professor at Johns Hopkins University -- as she realized something relatively innocent could be twisted into drama. "I didn't know Candiace to be [messy] and I don't know if it's necessarily trash [talking], I think she just stated her opinion about each of the women," Wendy says. "She also stated to me very clear, 'These are my feelings. I want you to go in there and I want you to make your own decisions.' That's it. 'I'm not telling you what to do. I'm not telling you who to be friends with. This is just what I have experienced knowing them for these amount of years,’ and that's really what the conversation was." "She even said that with people who her relationships were not so good with, like someone like Ashley [Darby]," Wendy notes. "She said, 'This is how I feel but I want you to meet her and make up your own mind.'" Wendy says she really did want to form her own opinions of the women -- and did, quickly. Most notably, Karen. The self-proclaimed "Grande Dame" of the group wasn't exactly welcoming to Wendy, according to Wendy; it's not a huge surprise to viewers, as Karen admitted she was "not impressed" with Wendy within seconds of Wendy appearing onscreen for the first time. In another episode, Karen turned away from Wendy mid-conversation to start a chat with someone else at a party. Then, Karen went on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and pulled a Mariah Carey, saying, "I don't know her." Wendy says of all her new friends, Karen surprised her the most: "She portrays herself as this Mother Goose, as this motherly person, that's not what I got from her. Karen is older than my mom, and so I didn't even expect her to concern herself with me, you know? For me, I look at people who I could be their mom almost like a mentor-mentee relationship. So to go out of your way to bully someone who you could be their mother? It's just like… what?!" Runner-up for biggest surprise was Ashley. Wendy was expecting nothing but drama from RHOP's youngest star, especially after getting the lowdown for Candiace, who famously pulled a butter knife on Ashley last season. Instead, Wendy found a "super zen" woman she could bond with over babies. Both Ashley and Wendy welcomed new children just before season 5 started shooting." The whole season seems to be leading up to RHOP’s most dramatic moment ever: a physical altercation between Candiace and Monique Samuels. The fight made headlines in the fall when it happened, but few details about what went down have been revealed. "I would say it was heartbreaking," Wendy shares. "It was really something that I wish had never happened. If I had a magic wand, I would make it go away." "That's the watershed moment," she adds. "That is the watershed moment of Potomac. And I say that, even though I'm coming in the fifth season, I believe that's the moment and has been the moment that's changed the dynamic of all the relationships. And it's changed it to the extent that some people have said, there’s no turning back. I am hopeful that they will change their minds. I am hopeful that we can come back together as a group, but whatever happens from this point, that moment is going to be what defines it." "I like both Candiace and Monique and when I saw it escalating, I said, I don’t know where this is gonna go. I have a feeling where this is gonna go, but as long as I'm around, I don’t want it to go there," she recalls. "Unfortunately, I'm only but one person and if they're gonna go at it, they're gonna make their decisions to go at it." “But you know, I'm that girlfriend -- I'm that girlfriend that, if something happens, I'm gonna be right there to make sure I got your back, and I'm gonna be right there to protect both people," she adds. "I won't run away. Like some people did… or one person did." In classic reality TV fashion, there's a Team Candiace vs. Team Monique debate between the RHOP fandom playing out online, with some of the cast weighing in and appearing to choose sides. Wendy says, that's foolish. "I am not Team Candiace nor Team Monique. I'm Team Right or Wrong," she proclaims, "and that's where people are getting messed up, because people are looking at the individuals, and people are failing to look at the actions." "Anyone who tries to frame this as Team Candiace or Team Monique, they're playing their hand because it's not about that," she says. "It's right or wrong, simple." The ladies of RHOP have said both that no one was right and that one person was right, the other was wrong in the Candiace vs. Monique moment. Wendy says that decision really lies with the audience to decide. "It's all about gradations, right?" she offers. "This is what I will say: You have to understand, if I kick you and then you retaliate by throwing a grenade at me, you have to decide is it two rights, two wrongs, or was one person more wrong or one person more right? And that's what we're dealing with here." (LOTS more in article! It's a long one. Worth reading the whole thing.)
Luann de Lesseps Sets the Record Straight on Constantine Maroulis Dating 3 'RHONY' Stars (ET Online) "I didn’t date Constantine," de Lesseps candidly said while on SiriusXM’s The Michelle Collins Show on Friday. "Constantine has been in my cabaret show [Countess and Friends]. He is a great guy. Let's just say that we had, like, a flirt. I wouldn’t say I dated Constantine." "I was showing the girls a picture of Constantine on the show and that’s when I discovered that he had dated Tinsley," she continued. "And I spoke to him and he said, ‘I didn’t date Ramona. We hung out, but I didn’t date Ramona.'" De Lesseps added that as the rumors circulated, the singer texted her. "And he's like, 'What?!' Anyway, he's a great [guy.] I love Constantine. He's a great singer and he is sexy."
2020.07.31 17:44 JeffreyBoswellNFL 2020: The Year In Preview
* Myles Garrett and former New Orleans Saint Kyle Turley meet for a charity helmet-removal ceremony on November 14th, the anniversary of Garrett's incident with Mason Rudolph. The event, dubbed "The Great American NFL Jerk-Off," raises $250,000 for charity. * After 149 receptions in 2019, the Saints Michael Thomas one-ups himself, posting 150 catches, 79 more than Miami's DeVante Parker. Thomas then tweets at Parker: "Congratulations! You made the 'All Pronoun Team,' because no one knows your name. #He.'" * DeAndre Hopkins explodes to start the season, with 32 receptions, 396 receiving yards, and 6 touchdowns in his first four games. Asked what the key to his amazing success is, Hopkins replies, "Miles and miles of separation ... from Bill O'Brien." * Philip Rivers has the second-most famous surgery for a Colts quarterback when he undergoes a vasectomy in October. In his next game back on October 18 versus the Jets, Rivers shoots blanks in the first quarter, going 0-7. Rivers bounces back the following week, when he and his wife announce that they're expecting their 10th child in July. On the year, Rivers is efficient and limits his interceptions as the Colts ride the league's best rushing game and a strong defense to the AFC South title. * In his first game as a Falcon, Todd Gurley rushes for 11 yards on 8 carries and 4 touchdowns, all 1-yard touchdown runs, as Atlanta beats Carolina, 31-24. A knee injury sidelines Gurley in Week 4, an ailment which never fully heals. Gurley ultimately plays in only 7 games, and leads the league in touches, from the medical staff. * Jameis Winston cuts his interception total from 30 in 2019 to 17 in 2020. Winston attributes the vast improvement not only to clearer vision due to Lasik surgery, but also to attempting only 34 passes as the backup to Drew Brees. The Saints finish the season 12-4, one game ahead of the 11-5 Buccaneers, and beat the Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game. * The Las Vegas Raiders christen Allegiant Stadium on opening day as former Raider legend Sebastian Janikowski serves as Master of Ceremonies. After ceremoniously breaking a bottle of Dom Perignon on the stadium's facade, Janikowski opens another bottle and offers glasses of champagne to each of the 32 Raiderettes, who all unanimously decline to drink. The Raiders are toast in their opener, as the Saints crush them, 31-12. * On opening day against the visiting Chargers, a sluggish Joe Burrow tosses 4 interceptions, is sacked 5 times, and vomits on the field in the third quarter. In the post-game press conference, Burrow apologizes for his performance, and promises to learn from his mistakes, and swears he'll never spend another Saturday night with Pacman Jones. On the season, Burrow passes for 3,756 yards and 4 touchdowns with 16 interceptions, and the Bengals finish 3-13, last in the AFC North. * After re-aggravating a back injury on October 4th, Rob Gronkowski announces his retirement. Just two days later, Gronk agrees to terms to host two new television shows during fall sweeps, Discovery Channel's "The Science of Drinking Games," and MTV's "Celebrity Sack Tap." * On November 1st, with the Packers holding a 10-point lead over the visiting Vikings with 7 seconds left and with possession, a heartbroken Aaron Rodgers takes a knee, and proposes to former girlfriend Danica Patrick. In a touching twist, Brett Favre rolls up in a golf cart and presents the band, a green opal set in a 100% copper ring, as well as a Copper Fit wedding gown. Patrick declines the offer via Twitter, and later reveals she left Rodgers for David Spade. Rodgers leads the Packers to a second-place finish in the NFC North and a wild card berth in the playoffs. * In November, Christian McCaffrey opens a nightclub in downtown Charlotte called "Run CMCBGB's WWJD," a venue that offers Christian rock, world-class atmosphere, and exotic VIP lounges, all in an alcohol-free environment. The club shutters its doors in December due to lack of interest. McCaffrey is all business on the field, and leads the NFL in touches for the second consecutive year, with 399, and later pens a book chronicling his 2020 season, titled "Just Give Me the Darn Ball." * ESPN's 2021 "Body" issue breaks new ground, featuring not athletes, but the equipment that trains them. Not surprisingly, football's "Jugs Machine" lands the coveted cover spot. * Cam Newton easily wins the starting quarterback job in New England and dominates in the Patriots first four games. Newton enters the Week 5 game against the visiting Broncos with 4 rushing touchdowns and 7 passing scores, but literally loses his "s," crapping his pants when he sees Von Miller across the line. Amazingly, the incident leads to an endorsement deal with Nautica's fashion sleepwear, in which Newton appears in print ads saying, "When you're pooped and need a change, try Nautica pajamas." * On his first two rush attempts as a Bronco, Melvin Gordon fumbles, and the "Melvin Gordon II" memes are born, such as "Time II Bench Melvin Gordon," "Dos Ickies," "II Bad," "All II Often," and "Boyz II Bench." Gordon's ball-handling struggles continue into October, but he eventually turns things around, thanks to the help of a clinic of hypnotists, whom Gordon refers to as his "Dream Team." Gordon finishes the season with 799 yards on the ground and 450 receiving yards with 7 total touchdowns. * The Seahawks visit the Rams on November 15th, and Jalen Ramsey and Jamal Adams convene at midfield prior to kickoff. The two exchange pleasantries and discuss plans to co-write a book tentatively titled "How to Alienate Friends, Influence Public Opinion, Be the Walking Definition of 'Disgruntled' and Force a Trade." In a Week 14 contest versus the visiting Jets, Seattle defeats Adams' former team 27-13. Adams has 2 interceptions, but complains he could have played better. * Bears legends Mike Ditka and Willie Gault team up to promote American Home Equity Bank & Semi-trust's "Double Reverse Mortgage," which encourages elderly Bears fans to "live fast, die soon." Chicago's on-the-field product is just as untrustworthy, and a 2-5 start results in the firing of Matt Nagy on October 27th. Ditka is briefly considered for the job along with Bob Swerski, but the assignment ultimately goes to defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano, who leads the Bears to a 7-9 finish. * With his signature blond hair back, Odell Beckham, Jr. announces the "Blond Ambition Tour 2020." Beckham later appears on the cover of Vogue, then completes the hat trick when he reveals that he is dating Madonna. Beckham finishes the season with 87 receptions for 1,234 yards and 10 touchdowns, while the Browns finish 9-7, behind the Ravens and Steelers in the AFC North. * Attendance is Los Angeles for the Chargers first four home games is abysmal, with attendance averaging around 30,000 in SoFi Stadium, which seats 70,000. Many attribute it to the unwillingness of San Diego and surrounding area residents to travel to Los Angeles, a phenomenon called "SoCal Distancing." The Chargers struggle on the field also, finishing in a tie for last in the AFC West with the Raiders at 6-10. * Patrick Mahomes purchases an island in the Lesser Antilles on September 17th to celebrate his 25th birthday. With a massive $477 million contract under his belt, Mahomes christens the getaway "Treasure Island," and posts a Gilligan's Island-themed pic on Twitter showing Mahomes as Gilligan and Andy Reid as the Skipper. Mahomes passes for 4,788 yards and 42 touchdowns and the Chiefs repeat as Super Bowl champions when they defeat the Saints, 31-27. * After seeing the 2010 movie Inception, Dallas owner Jerry Jones asks his R&D department to inquire into the possibility of "planting a seed in the head of that agent of Dak Prescott's." Jones is talked out of the scheme and into "Plan B," which is merely receiving an 8x10 signed photograph of Leonardo DiCaprio. * Former Carolina and Dallas defensive end Greg Hardy is victimized by an elaborate prank organized by Sasha Baron Cohen. In the scheme, Cohen, posing as a UFC matchmaker named "Joo Shih Tzu," convinces Hardy to participate in the organization's first inter-gender contest, to take place at UFC 253 in Las Vegas against a female opponent to be named later. Hardy readily accepts before Cohen reveals the ruse, sending Hardy into a frenzy. * Drew Brees finally "takes a knee," albeit just to the groin, when he appears as a guest on MTV's "Johnny Knoxville's Jackass NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick in the Balls Special." The show airs as part of the network's "Football is Back" programming on September 9th, sandwiched between 12 hours of "Ridiculousness." * In the Packers home opener against the Lions on September 20, Aaron Rodgers connects with DaVante Adams on a 15-yard TD pass late in the first quarter. Adams then celebrates with a Lambeau Leap into the empty stands and bangs his head on an empty seat. Adams enters the NFL's concussion protocol, while the Packers secure a federal loan to outfit the end zone seats with NASCAR's "SAFER Barrier." * Gardner Minshew II lights up the Bengals in Week 4 for 450 yards passing and 5 TD passes in a 42-17 Jags rout. Minshew is named AFC Offensive Player of the Week, and honor topped just a day later when Minshew is tapped for the role of Bo Darville in Smokey and the Bandit 4. * Washington stuns the Cowboys, 24-23, on Thanksgiving, led by 3 TD scores, 2 on the ground, from Dwayne Haskins. Haskins celebrates back in D.C. on Friday night, a little too hard, and is cited for urinating in public, leading to the embarrassing headline "Dwayne Vein Drain" in The Washington Post. 2020.07.26 00:09 ADPX94An inappropriately long and probably biased opinion piece of the Denise Richards drama
I posted this on the other RH sub but thought you guys might enjoy it, as well. 🤷♂️ It’s pretty lengthy, though, so feel free to completely ignore it! I’ve been team Denise all season but after some quiet reflection (i.e. hours spent watching the show and reading everything about it), I’ve decided it’s the hill I’m going to die on. In trying to convince a friend to ditch team Kyle and join the right side of Real Housewives history, I wound up writing more than ever needed to be said on the topic and so, I thought I’d share it with people who might actually care enough to read it but probably won’t. 😂 To fully understand why a person would be team Denise, we need to first look back at her life before the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Prior to it, Denise was married to Charlie Sheen. This is a man that cheated on her with hookers, sent her death threats, had a breakdown, and had a lot to say about biwinning and tiger’s blood. Furthermore, court records have also indicated that he had child pornography on his computer. In short, she’s seen some dark days with Charlie. It doesn’t stop there, though. All of this happened publicly and within their children’s lifetimes. Sam and Lola have had to carry the burden of being the children of Charlie Sheen their entire lives. This probably made it hard for them to make friends as no parent would want their kid hanging out with anyone associated with Charlie Sheen. While this is all just speculation, there’s no doubt that these thoughts have at least crossed Denise’s mind while raising them. It’s worth noting, too, that Charlie had other children with another woman and that Denise took them at one point, due to her and Charlie’s inability to care for them. That is beside the point but does indicate character, as it’s not something Denise HAD to do but chose to. Fast forward to last year. Denise joins the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and quickly becomes a fan favorite of the audience. She’s down to earth, fun to watch, and has hilarious responses to the drama happening around her (she’s usually eating and has no idea why anyone is fighting). Her entrance onto the show coincided with Lisa Vanderpump’s last season, as the rest of the cast was finally successful in taking her down. For years, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Revolved around Lisa Vanderpump’s alleged manipulations of other cast members in their attempt at take downs of her. Now that they’ve succeeded, it appears there’s really no storyline left for them but to now go after Denise. In the first episode of season 10, Teddi brings up to Denise that Charlie Sheen is trashing her in the media. This is particularly funny, as Teddi just shared on Twitter a text message with her dad, where she explains that Denise is the one always talking about Charlie Sheen. And yet, the first mention of him in this season came from Teddi, not Denise. It’s also interesting that Teddi appeared to have the news article memorized, although she very well could’ve been reading it from her phone. Either way, Teddi brought him up. Erika then felt the need to offer legal advice to Denise, despite the fact that Denise has been dealing with him for years and probably already knows what she needs to do. Erika then called Tom and asked him what he should do about her upcoming court date. Denise asked for none of this, by the way, but it’s not exactly the first time Erika or Teddi have dictated another person's story line while avoiding their own. Denise later decides to throw a family party at her new home and invites the cast over. She has an ice sculpture (obviously a nod to the diamonds they hold in the opening credits) that according to her, Eloise picked out. Could be true, could be a well-played guilt trip. Either way, it’s the least of our worries. Kyle shows up to this party early and immediately starts talking shit about the decoration. If I recall correctly, she was already bothered by Denise taking Dorit’s side in a previous argument. Anyway, she later calls Denise a ragamuffin behind her back. While Kyle has portrayed herself as a girl's girl, none of this is particularly surprising, as jealousy has run rampant in her life since the very beginning of it. You don’t even have to hate Kyle to see that. Think about it. She grew up in Kim’s shadow, played “cool aunt” to Paris Hilton as an adult, and then finally snagged a leading role on reality TV only to play second fiddle to Lisa Vanderpump for the next nine years. When Lisa was finally run off the show in season 9, Dorit and Denise were the only ones to come out unscathed and still be well-received by the audience. Incidentally, those are the two that Kyle’s come at the hardest this season. The same night Kyle calls Denise a ragamuffin, all of the women decide to discuss sex at the dinner table, despite the fact that there are kids one table over. Denise points this out, but it’s downright ignored. In her own home, no less. . Denise had already mentioned Aaron’s penis at that dinner, giving the impression that anything she’d have to say about the threesome conversation is null and void. However, she made one comment and did so in a much quieter fashion. It’s unlikely anyone at the kids table had heard her. Then, Kyle attacks Dorit yet again over glam and storms out of her party (only to be offended when Denise does the same later on). The following day or so, Denise brings up to Erika that she didn’t appreciate the adult conversations taking place around her children and their friends. Erika apologizes and we think that’s the end of it. However, Erika was not the only one to do this, so Denise does what any normal person would do and discusses it with the other women involved. All seems to be okay, until Lisa Rinna sinks her hooks into what appears to be at the very least a potential storyline, but more likely another takedown of someone more popular than her. In Santa Monica, the women discuss threesome-gate and it’s at this moment that Erika breaks her number one rule and talks about somebody else’s child. She says that Sam and Lola probably know what a threesome is, if they haven’t had one already. This is the same woman who snapped on Eileen for saying “ it’s not like she killed your child” during the confrontation in Hong Kong. Why is it that Erika can say whatever she wants about a person's kid, not to mention in a nastier fashion, but no one can dare discuss her’s? Denise eventually shows up and is forced into a group discussion about threesome-gate, even though she already cleared it up with everyone individually. She gets questioned by Rinna on whether or not Sam and Lola know about Charlie’s hookers, as if that matters. Furthermore, she gets a reminder of Wild Things, a movie that she made over 20 years ago (a 90s classic I might add). As if that even matters or is relevant to the discussion. Denise eventually shuts the conversation down after they cross her boundaries yet again byasking her what the threesome-gate conversation with her kids was like. Flashbacks indicate that they were fine with it and if there’s one thing she should’ve done differently in all of this, it’s to say that it didn’t really bother them all that much. Not sure how much it would’ve mattered, but we all know this is what they’ll be harping on at the reunion. That’s not really the point, though. Denise is their mother and gets to decide in her own home what her kids are exposed to. And, these are kids that have already been exposed to so much. One would think because of that, they don’t need to be exposed to anything more. However, the ladies of Beverly Hills disagree and claim that because of how much their father’s put them through, they can say whatever they want in front of them. Erika basically says that to Denise, stating that a threesome is pretty low on the totem pole. As if it’s her right to decide that. Erika then accuses Denise of some “mom-shaming”, which is so ridiculous that I won’t even give it time. Asking your friends not to talk about sex in front of your kids is far from mom-shaming. Anyway, Sutton then makes a complete error of judgement and tells Denise not to bring the kids around next time, to which Denise responds that it was her party at her home. Sutton seems to get it and backs off immediately. Despite holding her own, Denise eventually gives up reasoning with these lunatics and says she’ll be more aware of bringing her kids around next time. The next morning, Teddy brings up threesome-gate yet again, for the reason that Denise shutting it down must mean that she’s actually angrier than she claims to be. Denise assures them that she’s not, and Rinna yells “OWN IT BABY”, still having no idea what it means to own something. And what exactly is Denise supposed to own, Rinna? We still don’t know. Either way, Denise does own her shit and follows up on her promise to be more aware of bringing her children around. At Kyle‘s family BBQ, she comes with her just her husband, where threesome-gate is brought up once again. However, this time, Aaron jumps in and makes a complete ass out of himself. Denise calls Teddi a shit stirrer, and starts cussing a little bit louder than she should around Dorit’s daughter (though Dorit didn’t seem to mind). And, I’m sure if Dorit had brought it to her attention l, Denise would have chilled out. Instead, we get the ever-accountable Teddi pointing it out... to someone else. Aaron and Denise eventually decide they have enough, hint to us some concerning dynamics in their relationship (“I’ll crush your fucking hand”), and then leave to go to a strip club. Denise noted on Twitter that this was clearly a joke and made that clear in her confessional, but that it was left on the editing floor. However, even if it wasn’t a joke, they have every right to grab a burger at the local strip joint. They are grown ass adults. Either way, Rinna takes us back to the group as malicious gossip and then does some pole dancing for the rest of the group. I think it’s around that time that Garcelle decides to jump ship while she still can. Denise then goes to Sutton’s event, where Erika picks a fight with her and while she’s in the bathroom. On a podcast, Erika explains that she wanted to have this conversation without Denise present, probably for no other reason than knowing he’d be too dumb to articulate his point. I get the feeling she doesn’t really like confrontation with people on her level, as we never really get to see any. Anyway, she goes off about “mansplaining” (letting us know how hip she is with words) and indicates that she would never let Tom do that. However, Tom has done exactly that. In season six, he not only talked down to the long-forgotten Kathryn Edwards during a dinner party, but told both Lisa Vanderpump and Erika not to interrupt him while he was talking. While Lisa gave a respectful nod and waited for the opportunity to circle the conversation back to her, Erika froze and sank back into her chair. Oh well, at least it gave Ken the chance to point out Tom’s acting like a judge when he’s just a lawyer. Anyway, Denise comes back from the bathroom and gets Aaron’s dumbass the hell out of there. All of this brings us to Kyle‘s tacky sign party, where Brandi Glanville shows up and reconnects with Denise and Aaron. She tells them that she wants to be in a throuple with them, which is pretty odd considering that (according to Brandi) Denise is basically blackmailing her to keep quiet about their affair. Nevertheless, Brandi gets drunk, falls all over every floor she can find in that backyard, and inadvertently giving us the gif we never knew we needed. The next day or so, Erika has her own party, where Rinna announces they’ll all be going to Rome. Denise then takes a moment to clear the air with Erika, who’s had a problem with both her and Aaron throughout the season. Denise explains her confusion of why this conversation is still going, stating that she can have adult interactions and still have boundaries with her children. Erica ignores this, probably due to her lack of a rebuttal (you’re blowin’ it, Tom), and changes the topic to Aaron’s tendency to “mansplain”. Denise responds with “we’ll get to that in a minute” and Erica reminds us of how cold she can be. Whatever, it’s just diamonds. But, in her confessional, she accuses Denise of trying to control the conversation, even though that’s exactly what she just did to Denise by bringing up Aaron’s “mansplaining”. If season 10’s given us anything, it’s the revelation of Erika’s Girardi’s blatant hypocrisy. Before the trip to Rome (or after if you believe the rumors), Kim Richards shows up to Kyle’s house to return some dresses. She’s in a hurry, because Brandi is waiting on the car. It’s apparently Brandi’s birthday and they’re going out for dinner. Or was it Reiki? Actually, it was dinner and then the story changed to Reiki. Anyway, Kyle, who’s miraculously made up with Brandi, tells Kim to go get her. Brandi comes in wearing a mic, indicating that this wasn’t really a random drive by. I suppose production could have mics on standby, but that’s really beside the point in all of this. Brandi tells Kyle and Teddi that Denise is not who she pretends to be, that she talks shit about all of them (which is fine with me, given that’s all they’ve done to her this season), and that she “trusts Brandi because she has something on Brandi” (when the story she tells would indicate that Brandi actually has something on her). She explains that she made out with Denise and that they eventually hooked up, due to the “open relationship” that she and Aaron are in. Apparently, the hook up took place at Denise’s place (or was it a hotel?), where from what we can gather, there was no rollaway bed and Denise‘s kids were asleep downstairs. Whether or not the kids’ room had a door on it is up for debate, however, as Brandi stated that it did and then two seconds later said that it didn’t. This is the first sign of Brandi’s story changing to whatever narrative needs to be pushed. She then ends the story in a dramatic fashion, stating that she was told that Aaron could never find out or else he’d killed Denise. So, according to Brandi, Denise was not in an open relationship but lied about that in order to have sex with Brandi (I’d like to think Denise has better taste but I disgress). However, Brandi is now saying on Twitter that she’s not making this up, that they DO have an open relationship, and that they even asked her to find girls for them. Are we really supposed to believe that two people as hot as Aaron and Denise couldn’t find their on girls to have sex with, that they need Brandi Glanville of all people to help them? Furthermore, are we supposed to believe this never-ending, always-changing the story? Well, Kyle seems to believe it, stating that Brandi may be a lot of things but that she is not a liar. She even went as far as saying that she was grateful for Brandi and Kim’s friendship, which has gotta be either a straight up or further proof that she couldn’t give a fuck less about Kim’s recovery. Nevertheless, of these statements contradict yourself footage we’ve already seen, as well as the blogs that she’s written in the past that state exactly the opposite. For example, one of her blog entries is even named “Brandi puts out lies”. Moreover, Kyle herself has sent cease-and-desists to Brandi in the past. What reason could she have for that? Either Brandi is a liar or the truth about Kyle Richards it’s just too painful for Kyle to hear. Either one is a honestly viable option. Still, it’s preposterous to even give credit to Kyle’s witness testimony of Brandi after everything we’ve seen over the years. The reunion has since been filmed, which Rinna referred to as bullshit. However, Dorit stated on WWHL that she disagrees with that assessment. It seems pretty clear from Rinna’sInstagram that something went down and she is still upset about it. One post indicated that it had something to do with the cease-and-desist that Denise sent out but unless it’s one dealing with something separate from Brandi’s allegations, that’s just not true. This is for the reason that Brandi will be sitting down with Andy Cohen to discuss that particular storyline. They wouldn’t really be able to, if there was a cease-and-desist preventing them from doing so. Rinna has also (presumably) indicated in her story that Denise is a “phony” and was even kind enough to provide us with its definition, on the off chance that we’re too stupid to already know what it means. It doesn’t stop there, though. What’s resentment without a little homophobia mixed in? In her most recent stories, she’s been referring to Brandi and Denise as “Scissor Sisters”. It would be safe to say that at the very least, the reunion did not go the way that Rinna wanted it to. This makes sense, given how bumbled their takedown of Denise has been so far. I mean, they didn’t even try to attack Aaron’s business. Of all the things these women could have gone after, the pharmaceutical paranoia would’ve been the most obvious to capitalize on. Idiots. 🤦♂️ Anyway, it’s also worth noting that Denise has unfollowed Erika, Rinna, and Teddi. Garcelle has also unfollowed Rinna. There still a few episodes left and time will tell who’s side we should be on, but it seems pretty obvious to me that team Denise is for the win.
2020.07.25 12:31 ADPX94An inappropriately long and probably biased opinion piece of the Denise Richards drama

There still a few episodes left and time will tell who’s side we should be on, but it seems pretty obvious to me that team Denise is for the win.

As you are aware, the City is currently responding to the novel coronavirus, and we want to make sure that you are provided with the most up-to-date information. Cómo ya sabe, la Ciudad de Nueva York está respondiendo al brote del coronavirus, y queremos asegurarnos que reciba información actualizada. 如您所知, 紐約市目前正在應對新冠病毒, 我們會確保向您提供最新的消息。 MAYOR DE BLASIO, COMMISSIONER GARCIA AND CHANCELLOR CARRANZA ANNOUNCE SUMMER MEAL HUBS Meal Hub service will continue this summer for all New Yorkers from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM Monday through Friday at 400 sites NEW YORK—Mayor Bill de Blasio, COVID-19 Food Czar and Sanitation Commissioner Kathryn Garcia and Chancellor Richard A. Carranza today announced grab-and-go Meal Hubs will continue to operate through the summer as the City continues to fight food insecurity during the COVD-19 crisis. Starting on June 29th, Meal Hub summer service will operate at approximately 400 sites across the city and continue regular service from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Grab-and-go meals are available to any New Yorker who needs them. Vegetarian meals that are also halal will be available at all sites, and select sites serving halal chicken and kosher-certified meals will continue during the summer. A full list of sites will be available here. “New Yorkers shouldn't have to choose between putting food on the table and paying their bills," said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “We’re continuing Grab-and-go meals through the summer to ensure no New Yorkers goes hungry.” “The hundreds of Grab & Go sites across the city have been a crucial part of ensuring that no New Yorker goes hungry due to this crisis, and I want to thank the working people who will help them stay open throughout the summer,” said New York City Sanitation Commissioner and ‘COVID-19 Food Czar’ Kathryn Garcia. “These meals are available regardless of income, citizenship, or age, and I urge anyone in need to make use of them.” “Serving over 20 million meals to New Yorkers throughout this crisis has been an honor, and our heroic food service workers have seen it as their duty,” said Schools Chancellor Richard A. Carranza. “We are proud to continue this service throughout the summer for anyone who needs a meal during the week.” After school buildings were closed on March 15th due to COVID-19, the grab-and-go Meal Hub program began in order to provide nutritious food to students who depend on school meals. As part of the City’s fight against the economic crisis caused by the pandemic, Meal Hub service expanded in early April to include all New Yorkers who need meals during this crisis. To date, Meal Hubs have served approximately 30 million meals and are currently averaging approximately 550,000 meals a day. Meal Hub service will continue for the duration of this summer. In addition to meals, Meal Hubs are now community hubs for important updates on COVID-19, free books for young people, and access to menstrual hygiene products. Starting on June 22nd, all Meal Hubs began offering take home pizza meal kits. Take home pizza meal kits can be cooked at home using an oven, microwave, or toaster oven. Meal Hub patrons can pick up pizza alongside to grab-and-go meal offerings, and this option will continue to be available throughout the summer. The DOE will exhaust all existing supplies of pizza in schools to prevent food waste and continue to order more meal kits as needed. Site locations may change for Summer Meal Hub service. To find the closest open Meal Hub, please visit schools.nyc.gov/freemeals or text “NYC FOOD” or “NYC COMIDA” to 877-877. "As New York City reaches an unemployment rate of 18% and New Yorkers struggle to pay their bills, the last thing our communities should have to worry about is whether they can put food on the table. I am grateful that the NYC Department of Education will continue the Grab & Go Meal Hub program into the summer – it is critical that New Yorkers maintain access to emergency food assistance throughout the duration of this pandemic and in our greatest moment of need," said State Senator Alessandra Biaggi. "Neither COVID-19 nor hunger take a summer vacation. It is vital we make sure our children get fed this summer. I support efforts to adapt tools that can get meals to children while keeping them safe during the pandemic," said Assistant Speaker Felix W. Ortiz. "The effects of the pandemic are far-reaching and have impacted food security for many people across our city," said Council Member Adrienne Adams. “The continuation of grab-and-go meal hubs throughout the summer comes to us during challenging times and displays the administration’s commitment to the fight against hunger in New York City. I look forward to this continued support for all New Yorkers.” "DOE Grab-and-Go Meal sites have without a doubt been an incredible lifeline for my constituents since the brink of this pandemic, and I'm thrilled that this program will continue even after the academic year has finished for the summer season," said Council Member Margaret S. Chin. "As New York City continues its path towards a full reopening, we must remain committed to preserving the services that have helped hundreds of families survive this crisis to help New Yorkers get back on their feet." “As the City begins to reopen, it’s critical that all New Yorkers continue to have access to fresh, healthy food and the comprehensive support and resources offered at DOE meal hubs. I thank Commissioner Garcia, Commissioner Carranza, and Mayor de Blasio for their commitment to fighting food insecurity and ensuring New Yorkers are supported throughout the City’s recovery process,” said Council Member Andrew Cohen. “Even as we enter Phase 2 of reopening the city, and we allow restaurants to reopen, food insecurity continues to be an issue for families across all five boroughs,” said Council Member Vanessa L. Gibson. “Our office has been inundated with calls from residents seeking food assistance since the start of the pandemic and the grab-and-go Meal Hubs have been a great source of support for them. I commend the administration for their decision to continue to operate the Meal Hubs during the summer and for offering Halal and Kosher options to ensure all New Yorkers are able to take advantage of this program.” "This virus exacerbated food insecurity issues in New York City, the financial stress created by Covid-19 continues to be all too real for many families," said Council Member Ben Kallos. "Extending grab-and-go Meal Hubs throughout the summer will offer families in need something to fall back on when they cannot make ends meet. This is important for children, seniors, and every vulnerable New Yorker in between. Thank you to Mayor de Blasio and Food Czar and Sanitation Commissioner Kathryn Garcia as well as Chancellor Richard A. Carranza for working together to make this happen." "We have seen an unprecedented need for emergency food assistance in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak and expanding summer meal hubs will help ensure all New Yorkers have access to fresh, nutritious food to help get them through these trying times,” said Council Member Peter Koo. "Covid-19 cases are at record lows in New York City, but the economic impact of the virus has yet to peak. Free meal service for all, including our halal and kosher eating communities, is an essential service," said Council Member Rory Lancman. "Making sure our most vulnerable families and children are fed is arguably more important now during the recovery than before. No one should have to worry about putting food on the table while they try to restore financial stability. I'm pleased the City will continue the Grab and Go Meal Hubs through the summer,” said Council Member Carlos Menchaca. "The extension of the Meal Hub program, coupled with the availability of halal and vegetarian options and other crucial resources, represents the City's enduring commitment to provide for all its residents. Today's announcement is an important step to ensuring that individuals and families have access to nutritious food options, and I applaud the Administration's efforts in ensuring that no New Yorker goes hungry," said Council Member I. Daneek Miller. "COVID-19 has affected New York City in unimaginable ways, but one of the most urgent economic effects of the pandemic was food insecurity. Thankfully, the City stepped in to fill the need with the Meal Hub program. With so many New Yorkers still suffering from lost income and facing limited employment prospects in the coming months, the extension of this program through the summer is vital. I commend the Mayor, Chancellor Carranza, and Commissioner Garcia for keeping this service in place, and I send my heartfelt appreciation to the essential workers that prepare and distribute these meals at our schools," said Council Member Carlina Rivera. MAYOR DE BLASIO AND CHANCELLOR CARRANZA ANNOUNCE CITYWIDE GRADUATION FOR THE CLASS OF 2020 Event will air on June 30th at 7:00PM on PIX11 and online NEW YORK—Today, Mayor Bill de Blasio and Schools Chancellor Richard A. Carranza announced a citywide graduation celebration will be held on June 30. The graduation will bring the entire city together in celebration of the past accomplishments and bright future of the Class of 2020, featuring student spotlights, musical performances, and special guest speakers—including award-winning artist, and former NYC Public School student and teacher, Lin-Manuel Miranda. “Graduating high school under normal circumstances is an extraordinary accomplishment, but I am especially impressed by the Class of 2020 and all they have been through to get to this point. In this time of great upheaval and many challenges, they will be leading the way to create a fairer, safer future for all. I could not be more proud to celebrate them with this special sendoff,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “Congratulations to the amazing Class of 2020! There’s never been a New York City graduating class like yours. There’s never been a senior year like this!” said Schools Chancellor Richard A. Carranza. “As Chancellor of all New York City Public Schools, and on behalf of all 150,000 staff who make our schools run: I am so proud of you.” “We’re proud to help make this exciting event available to every New Yorker,” said Bart Feder, Vice President and General Manager of PIX11. “These resilient graduates will play a crucial role in the future of our city and nation, and they’ve earned this recognition” The COVID-19 crisis disrupted the traditional celebrations honoring the accomplishments and hard work of the Class of 2020, and this special program will be broadcast to all of New York in recognition of all the Class of 2020 has achieved. The graduation celebration, produced by the City in partnership with New York’s Very Own PIX11, will air live on PIX11’s TV channel, website, and social media channels at 7:00PM on June 30th. It will also be livestreamed on the DOE’s and City’s social media channels, as well as at https://www.nycclassof2020.com/. Kori Chambers, Marysol Castro and Mr. G from PIX11 will host the ceremony, which will feature: · a musical performance from Brooklyn’s Phony Ppl as well as student musical performances; · guest speakers including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Pitbull, Kenan Thompson, Nick Kroll, Angela Yee, Tina Fey, Andy Cohen, and more; · a special valedictorian speech; · and contributions from family members and educators who have supported our graduating seniors. The citywide celebration of the Class of 2020 complements ceremonies and events being held in communities across the city. These celebrations are being done virtually, as drive-throughs, and in other unique ways that safely honor this year’s senior class. MAYOR DE BLASIO ANNOUNCES ILLEGAL FIREWORKS TASK FORCE As complaints skyrocket, NYPD, FDNY Fire Marshals and Sheriff's Office take action to disrupt fireworks supply chain NEW YORK—Mayor Bill de Blasio today established a multi-agency task force to crack down on illegal fireworks sales. The task force will target suppliers, distributors and possessors of large quantities of illegal fireworks by conducting investigations and sting operations within and outside of New York City to disrupt supply chains. The FDNY will also launch a public safety campaign, including public service announcements and social media, to illustrate the dangers of illegal fireworks. The task force will consist of 10 officers from NYPD Intelligence Bureau, 12 FDNY Fire Marshals and 20 members of the Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation. “Illegal fireworks are both dangerous and a public nuisance” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “We’re cracking down on this activity at the source to ensure the safety of all New Yorkers and the ability of our neighbors to get some sleep.” “For any number of reasons the use of illegal firework has skyrocketed this year and that has damaged the quality of life in our neighborhoods. The NYPD will continue to work closely with our city partners to address this dangerous issue,” said Police Commissioner Dermot Shea. “Fireworks are illegal in New York City for a reason: they are extremely dangerous and can cause fires and serious injuries,” said Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro. “Our Fire Marshals will work closely with their fellow law enforcement agencies to address this growing problem that is impacting New Yorkers in communities across our city.” “Illegal fireworks pose a significant danger to New York families, and the Sheriff’s Office will use its investigative tools in the areas of contraband interdiction in conjunction with our law enforcement agency partners to vigorously suppress the sale and distribution of illegal fireworks,” said Sheriff Joseph Fucito. MAYOR DE BLASIO AND MACY'S ANNOUNCE 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION NEW YORK—Today, Mayor de Blasio and Macy’s announced a fireworks plan in celebration of the 4th of July that will reach every borough for the first time ever. From June 29th to July 1st and on July 4th, a series of fireworks displays will launch from various land and water-based locations across New York City. “These past few months have been some of the most difficult in our city’s history, and New Yorkers are looking for a break. This 4th of July Celebration with Macy’s will give all New Yorkers a safe and exciting way to enjoy the holiday together, even when we are apart,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “New York City is our hometown. Macy’s believes in giving back to the communities where we live and work, and this year, we are taking our Fireworks show on a trip across the city. In reimagining this year’s show, the idea of bringing elements to many parts of our hometown resonated with our team and partners in the City of New York,” said Susan Tercero, Eecutive Producer Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks. “These five-minute surprise displays will showcase Macy’s signature pyrotechnic design and scale, while encouraging spectators to continue following safety and social distancing measures. The multiple location spectacle will culminate with a full-scale television presentation of Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, capturing the spirit of the city for all New Yorkers and the nation to enjoy, choreographed to a rousing score, and featuring the nation’s best musical performances.” These smaller, unannounced displays will allow New Yorkers to celebrate all week long. Each show is brief and will be over before residents can gather at the source. With heights reaching up to 1,000 feet from some firing locations, staying close to home and following social distancing guidelines is the best way to enjoy the show. New Yorkers and spectators across the country will have a front-row view to the displays by tuning to NBC’s national broadcast of Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular (8-10p.m. ET/PT, 7-9 p.m. CT/MT, check local listings). The Nation's most popular Independence Day special will include performances from some of America’s top musical acts and a presentation of the full Macy’s Fireworks show captured throughout the week, including a live grand finale. 2020.06.12 01:59 theflippityflipIn response to Nene calling for Andy Cohen to be Fired
Yes but Nene should go too. You can't go around calling people "half-breeds", bully like it's a fucking Olympic sport and you want gold, and skip your bravo filming dates. https://www.lovebscott.com/rhoa-fans-outraged-nene-leakes-hurls-half-breed-racial-slur-at-claudia-jordan-video Andy should be long gone and I fully support this. And will promote this all over insta, twitter and to his sponsors and employers. But is Nene's timing on this because she also has backlash and could herself be fired? They can both go. Bravo needs a policy of ZERO homophobia or racism and the misogyny train they are shoving at us needs to fucking stop. That doesn't empower anyone and I am sick of every show being rampant bullying and toxicity. You cannot behave in a workplace like this so why is it ok to behave like this in a bravo setting which is also a workspace for the cast and crew?! This is not entertainment. Why must they make $ at the expense of treating women, POC, minorities and trans individuals terribly? Enough is fucking enough. It's 2020 and the fact that their whole stable of shoes are horrible like this is deeply disturbing. I don't need to see a coked out narcissist hopped up on Adderall and steroids compulsive list Jax emotionally abuse Brittney and this is what bravo showcases at "entertainment"?! It's fucking disgusting. NBC and Bravo need to clean house. They need more women, POC and trans representatives on their shows and producing and editing. They should partner with GLAAD or do something to show us that they are actually learning and revamping as so far it's the same idiots producing and editing. Andy Cohen for too long has enabled and given a pass to homophobia, misogyny, racism and horrificly damaging bullying. He needs to go as he is as bad as the rest of them by profiting off of this and celebrating "the drama" of this terribly dehumanizing behaviour.
